I've written about this before, but the earliest Mets game I remember attending was the Steve Henderson Game. I was not a big baseball fan at the time and would not follow baseball regularly until 1985, but this was an exciting game. I've still haven't been to another sporting event that ended with such a joyous celebration by the fans.
Hey guys, you hear that Roy Halladay is pitching a PERFECT GAME against the Marlins. Hard to believe that he's pitching a PERFECT GAME as a PERFECT GAME doesn't happen very often.
I'm kind of giddy to see the All-Time National League East Team starting pitchers. For starters, it will have Tom Seaver and Steve Carlton. And there's late career but still winning a CYA Bob Gibson and early career but still winning a CYA Pedro Martinez. Then there's Doc Gooden and Rick Sutcliffe. And Glavine, Maddux, and Smoltz.

Just curious, how many years did Keith spend in the NL East? Did the Cards play in another division during part of his career? Later Hernandez played 16 of his 17 seasons in the NL East. The Cardinals didn't leave the division until after his retirement.
I'm trying so hard not to vote for Mookie, but how can I vote against Mookie. Also, Doug Glanville's years as a Cub (1996-97, 2003) don't count but his years as Phillie (1998-2002, 2004) do. Well, Mookie & Glanville make the all-time nice guys team.
That story would've been even better if you'd been able to turn and give the ball to a kid in a Mets' cap right in front of the presumptuous Phillies phan.
