Keith almost looked sick watching Gelbs with the 2 foot hot dog. Then somehow Gelbs got Keith to take a bite on the opposite end like Lady and the Tramp.. Keith kept looking down like he wanted to find a trash can so he could spit it out.

Following his last outing with Syracuse that was expected to be a final hurdle to his return to the Mets, A. J. Minter experienced discomfort in his surgically repaired left hip. His rehab assignment has been halted for now. Both Minter and the Mets are optimistic that he can return to the mound after a few days of rest.

Nice start. I just hope that not getting Melendez in from 3rd with one out doesn't come back to haunt the Mets.

I have been a conservative leaning independent most of my voting life. I have never voted a "straight ticket" in my voting life. There are good and bad individuals in both parties. I judged Trump to be a despicable, lying, narcissist that shouldn't be trusted long before he ever entered the political arena. I have never supported him or his self indulgent MAGA movement. My opinion of him has only diminished since he entered politics. Centerfield listed a substantial overview (but far from a comprehensive list) of the reasons that I find Trump to be a deplorable individual and a horrible president. Centerfield just stated it more eloquently than I am capable of doing.

He has been better than I expected him to be. Pretty solid thus far.

I believe they will ply better moving forward, but I can't see this digging out of the hole they have put themselves in. They have far too many outs in their line up and they essentially have a 3 man rotation in which Clay Holmes is their ace. I'm happy to see Holmes pitching so well, but I expect him to regress somewhat over the season. McLean and Peralta are capable of being an ace, but the offense really needs to step up and give them some runs to work with. I am glad to see Vientos and Benge showing some life at the plate of late, but it will take more than a good week from them for this team to be good. I expect them to be better, but not enough to save the offense. So ultimately, If Peterson can remember how to pitch effectively for 5-6 innings on a regular basis, if Soto and Bichette can put up their usual numbers the rest of the way, if Lindor recovers and comes back raking, if Vientos & Benge can continue their recent resurgence, if Baty & Alvarez can hit at least .240 the rest of the way, then the Mets could possibly make a run at the last wild card spot. -

After being no hit through 5 innings, the Mets bats suddenly come to life to score 4 in the top of the 6th. Now Peterson needs to pitch a clean inning.

By flipping Soto and Bichette at the top of the order, the Mets Go L-R-L-R through the first eight in the order. Mendoza seems to put a lot of stock in lefty on lefty (righty on righty) both when the Mets are hitting and when pitching.

Minter should be very close to returning to the Mets. He has appeared in 8 games and pitched 7.2 innings. His last 2 outings for AAA Syracuse were each a scoreless inning of work in a 3day span. He has an overall ERA of 1.17 with WHIP of 0.783. He only has 4 strike outs, but he hasn't issued any walks. He is getting hitters out, which is what matters most. I doubt there will be any significant news regarding Francisco Lindor until after he is reevaluated in 2-3 weeks. Likely in a walking boot until that evaluation.

before signing up, check to see what teams they would block you from seeing due to your location. For me, that block me from any Mets games (home & away) against the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles. You would likely be blocked for all games against the Philadelphia Phillies and/or Pittsburgh Pirates.

I truly hope you are right. The Mets need a lot more offense from Vientos, Baty, and Alvarez going forward.

Look out. The Mets are hot. Rolling into Colorado Riding the crest of a one game winning streak.

Raley closes out the 9th, with the aid of a phenomenal catch by Benge for a series win. Now the Mets need some payback against the Rockies.

If they collectively get 2 hits and drive in a run they will have been more successful than what we have been running out there any game Soto isn't in LF.

A good extension. Truthfully, Torrens is just as deserving of starting behind the plate as is Alvarez in my opinion.

I would really like to see McLean get through 6 strong innings. I just hope the offense will give him some support. I expect McLean to be good. The offense, not so much.

I think the Mets could upgrade the manager spot,. However, until the roster is significantly improved it won't make a significant difference. So I'm okay with staying with Mendoza for now.

Okay, KC is here, but has essentially abandoned the baseball discussions. As miserable as this team is, I can't blame a person for taking a break.

Overall, I am happy with the new place. Took little getting accustomed to it as does most change. Pleased to have several former members return to the fold and join us commiserating about this miserable season. I have pretty much learned to ignore the adds. Any one know what happened to KC.? I wish here were active here. He seems to be the one longtime member that appears to have left.
