  1. Significantly better than when I initially signed in yesterday. That is very encouraging.
  2. Place is already looking much better than when I initially signed in yesterday. It was virtually all Minnesota Twins posts and news. Glad to see so many familiar "faces" have made the move.
  3. Well, I'm in. Don't know how long I will be staying considering Grand Central Mets is virtually all Minnesota Twins related posts. When I click on the Forums Tab, the Mets aren't even listed ass an option. I try checking in in a few days to see if the Mets actually appear on Grand Central Mets.
  4. I looked at this soley from the standpoint of lost production that can't be replaced by any of the new Mets. Alonso and Diaz will be most difficult to replace. Since i could only vote for one, I went with Alonzo, since I don't believe anyone (outside of Soto) will replicate his HR's and RBI's. I have high hopes for Bo Bichette, but he is a high average doubles hitter with 20-25 HR a year power. Bo is more like his father, Dante, than he is Pete Alonso. That's not necessarily bad, but the Mets will miss Pete's HR production.
  5. I just had to look up Robert Stock. My mind kept telling me, "He's that stocky, hard throwing RHP from the Cubs a few years back." Then I would think, no way, his career is ended years ago. So I looked him up and damned if it isn't who I remembered (take that alzheimers), only he's still pitching. It is amazing how many players that are discussed here that I have no memory of, or I can picture them, but can't recall their name. Robert Stock however, sticks in the cobwebs of my mind. The mind is a mysterious thing.
  6. Carlos Delgado of the Toronto Blue Jays.
  7. Okay. Back to the baseball.
  8. I voted #5 and that was before KC's suggestion of the Unisphere in place of the baseball, which I really like.
  9. First chance to see what Manaea may be able to contribute this season. Hoping, he is more like the 2024 version than the 2025 version of himself. Health, I believe, is a big factor in his capabilities.
  10. I like the last rendition with the darker green for the sign. Great work Ben.
  11. I think Ben is on to something with this signage. Can the blue and orange of Mets more closely match the coloring of the official logo in the first sign?
  12. It is the free game of the day on MLB.com. Line up features Tauchmann in LF, Polanco @ 1st, Bichette @ 3rd, Baty in RF, and Mauricio @ SS. I may try to watch a few innings if I can get my yard work finished.
  13. No. There weren’t any Scott’s in the Old Testament. Later Nor Christians.
  14. Israel takes a 2-1 lead as Cole Carrigg hits a one out triple then scores on a double by RJ Schreck. David Peterson gave up one hit, no runs and whiffed 4 in 3 innings of work for the Mets. Christian Scott followed with 2.2 innings of relief. Scott allowed 2 hits and no runs. Struck out 5 Israelites. After that it has been a parade of "who is that?" out of the Mets bullpen.
  15. Put me down for Grand Central Mets. Is the apparent, consensus of this thread enough? Or do we need a poll? A poll would give everyone the opportunity to cast their vote and make the choice official.
  16. I don't believe MLB baseball players are, in general, noted for being cerebral intellectuals and deep thinkers.
  17. I think I like either Grand Central Mets or Mets Grand Central the best of the numerous suggestions made thus far.
  18. Flushing Baseball would also work with new members getting assigned a toilet avatar.
  19. I kind of like Meet the Mets. Another option might be Mets Baseball Pool.
  20. Does a team still have to pay a player that is suspended for cheating?
  21. I always liked Marte. He was a talented player that hustled and seemed to have a positive attitude in the dugout. It is a shame he suffered through a series of injuries which greatly limited his playing time and subsequent role with the team. I wish him well with the remainder of his career.
  22. Since none of us appear to be willing (or capable) of assisting or relieving the current administrators with running this site, then we must accept their decision regarding this matter. At this pont, I pledge to accept, with an open mind, whatever decision the current administrators make for the forum and their personal well being.
  23. Good outing from McLean (4 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 6 Ks, & 0 Runs) to start his spring. Hard to tell much about Imai as the Astros only let him pitch the 1st. He threw a total of 10 pitches in his outing.
  24. I look forward to seeing how McLean starts off his spring. The Mets really need him to be a strong top of the rotation guy this season. It will also be interesting to see how the Astros new acquisition from Japan, Tatsuya Imai pitches. I like that he didn't wish to be just another cog in the Dodgers Title machine. He essentially said that he wants to help dethrone them. I like that attitude. So good luck to you sir, just not when facing the Mets.
