  1. If the Mets release DeJean today, I think Rotblatt is really Omar in disguise.
  2. Cook:Games played by position 1962: Third Base 16, Right Field 10, Outfield 101963: Outfield 21, Third Base 9, Left Field 8, First Base 5, Right Field 2, Center Field 1 25 at third, 31 in the outfield. I guess he's an OF.Elster:He was a backup infielder in 1986, when he wore #2. He wore different numbers in other years (15 in '92, 21 when he played every day from 88-91). Read the "21" blurb and you'll see he's listed as a regular. So MBTN is technically right.
  3. Hey, Carlos homered and Pedro's not even pitching! Maybe Benson grew his hair out for today's start or something.
  4. Darold Knowles.Oh, wait. Wrong Recent Mets AFLAC Trivia Question Answer.
  5. And I have the song in my head also.
  6. I also voted for Piazza, because he can't be this bad forever. I see your point, Irish: when YSG asked us to go back and vote on those Schaefer games, I saw Piazza's two home run game in Milwaukee and thought "when the heck did that happen?" I didn't remember it at all. Sad.He hasn't homered since May 9. Ugly.
  7. Zambrano 6Wright 1Mientkiewicz 1Reyes 1Ring 1 (I had to give him a point for Chavez, even though the leadoff walk killed him)
  8. NOW SCORE SOME FREAKING RUNS.edit: If Diaz, aka "D.P. Rallykiller," comes up in a big spot in this inning, you pinch hit for him. I don't care if you throw Benson or Glavine up there, but you get Diaz the hell outta there.
  9. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee struckim ouuuuuuuuut! Oh, a big strikeout by the youngster.
  10. Welcome back to the big leagues, Royce. Now get the hottest hitter in baseball out in a tie game with runners on the corners in the bottom of the 8th.
  11. And thank you, Messrs. Cabrera and Lowell, for saving my fantasy team from oblivion this week:6-11, 2 1B, 3 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 4 R, 2 KO -- 18 ptsStill a long uphill climb this week thanks to Hudson and Glavine, but we'll get there.
  12. Sorry. I should have put more detail in my post; he's the same guy I adopted over at CPF1...Matt's a B-level prospect these days, working his way back into shape after spending two years on Mormon mission. His adoption comes solely from the fact that he has the same name as my wife's friend from college.
  13. You know, that Squid is always taking credit for talking like Rickey. Rickey don't get no credit for inventing Rickeyspeak. Rickey knows triple crappiness when Rickey sees it, and Rickey knows Rickeyspeak when Rickey rickeys Rickey Rickey.
  14. Matty's 1-3, 5.73 in 12 games (9 starts) to this point. In 37.2 innings, he's given up 41 hits and has walked an astonishing 30 and only K'ed 23.He's also 0-for-3 with 2 K's.
  15. Bingo! I win!
  16. Off the top of my head: Eric Gregg is 7. I could be wrong.
