  5. Paging fman to the post-deadline moves thread.
  6. It's okay; they're calling up Misch again to replace him. There will be two of him on the roster, since they already called him up the other day, but it's much easier that way, because it's one less person to worry about getting hurt, and as a bonus, because he's on the roster twice, you can use him out of the bullpen twice in one game.
  7. Burkhardt reporting that they're shutting down Ollie for knee surgery. You really can't make this stuff up.
  8. Dammit, man. Ryan Freel.
  9. Ah, who the hell are we kidding? Dunn would have been run over by the bullpen car if he was on this team. I want to agree with the Castillo pop-up, but that was more emblematic and symbolic than it was a turning point. The real turning point was the Citi Field Yankee sweep, followed by that awful road trip.
  10. And in defense of letting him pitch -- as of the break, the Mets were only six and a half games away from the division and the WC. One hot streak, and this team was back in it. That was before Bernazard, before we realized that none of the injured guys were coming back -- there was still a chance there, and shutting him down then would have been suicide. We would have been going crazy here, ripping them up and down. At least he's shut down now, when it really doesn't matter any more.
  11. Eff that, I'm tired of the cheap shit. Throw more money at it, Wilpons. Get me Victor Martinez for four years to play first, Miguel Olivo to catch, Carl Crawford in left (or, failing that, Bay), and Jermaine Dye in right. Then get Ryan "Super Joe" Freel to join Murphy, Reed, Santos, and Fernando Martinez on the bench. Put them behind Santana, Bedard, Lackey, Pineiro, and Oliver Fucking Perez and let 'em fly, baby.

Try to enjoy them as a single night, in summer, a game's on, Mets are playing, let's see if they can make a game of it. The kind of thing I'll be pining for in January. But they're so god damned bad at the dish. seawolf17 Aug 25 2009 08:38 PM ="Fman99":2o6fu428]="seawolf17":2o6fu428]I just want this season to go away.[/quote:2o6fu428] I understand, the only thing left to play for is because the games are on the schedule.
