  1. mlb.tv live if anyone's interested.
  2. Word now on the Twitters is that the Mets have mistakenly acquired DAN Wheeler and EMIL Brown.
  3. Farmer Ted wrote: The Giants are a good landing spot for Beltran, if this holds. Glad he'll have nice scenery on the west coast before signing a two-year deal with the Mets in the offseason. Plus he gets to plant the bug in the ear of guys like Posey and Cain about how fuckin' awesome it is playing in Queens.
  4. Rubin now saying that Giants are including Kevin Boss AND Mathias Kiwanuka.
  5. I'm taking "Heyman" out of the thread title, because he's a doosh and this seems to go beyond him anyway; don't want him in there getting credit when we archive this.
  6. Come on, Bumgarner. (Then we can have "face"-offs with Dickey Face!)
  7. I cannot understand why the Cardinals would trade Rasmus.
  8. Edwin Jackson and Mark Teahen from the White Sox to the Blue Jays for Jason Frasor and minor league pitcher Zach Stewart.
  9. Not for nothing, but that was a shit tag by the catcher. I know you're tired, but MAKE SURE YOU GET THE OUT. None of this swipey crap.
  10. Ashie62 wrote: Renting out Beltran is going to return so little why not keep him for the fans and tell the other teams to fuck off. Because the fans don't ACTUALLY give enough of a crap to buy tickets between now and the end of September, sadly.
  11. TransMonk wrote: I would not go as far as saying he is a lost cause. But, I think I've stopped thinking that he will eventually be something that he's clearly not. I don't think he'll ever be able to be consistently relied upon as a top of the rotation stater. He's a poor man's Steve Trachsel. And a head case, too. Let him be someone else's problem.
  12. I've been banging the "trade Pelf" drum for a while now.
  13. Fascinating how many of them went on to become Mets.
  14. I feel like Mike Cameron was a Met really recently, but only Jose and David would remember him as a teammate. Last time he was a Met, Mike Piazza was still a Met. Been a long time.
  15. Hey. Who is that guy on the right? Looks like #6x? http://twitpic.com/5u9lz3
  16. I'm pretty sure Edgy just started this poll so he could call you fellas on it in a few weeks. "But you said three weeks ago that the Mets had to be within five games to be in contention; they're five and a half games out and you seem to think they still have a shot."
  17. I want this game to go like seventeen innings, because Keith, in and among the people, will be HILARIOUS by midnight.
  18. Terry channeling his inner Willie with the pitching changes.
  19. dgwphotography wrote: Benjamin Grimm wrote: I think he'd be well suited for a role as a crafty veteran pinch hitter, who you call on when you need somebody to ground into a double play. He really has become an overpaid Tom Paciorek... HOLY CRAP that is terrifying.

  21. Full disclosure: I just quoted you, CF, on our local Patch -- I'm our new "Mets blogger." (Like the world needs more of those.)
  22. Centerfield wrote: I want him to be traded to the Phillies for Domonic Brown and whatever other prospects we can get for him. Then I want him to suck for Philadelphia. Batting average under .120, dropping balls in RF all over the place. I want him to play so bad that he gets benched mid-September. I want him to come back to CitiField and fraternize with the Mets to such an extent that the Philly papers call him out on this, and the Phillies front office has to tell him to cool it. I want him to be questioned by the NY media about his poor play and I want him to answer with a knowing smile that prompts an investigation as to whether he is tanking on purpose. I want the Phillies to file a grievance. I want him to "accidentally" back his car into Shane Victorino's ridiculously pimped out BMW while backing out of the Citizen's Bank Ballpark parking lot causing him over $15k in damage, most of it relating to Shane's custom-made hood ornament. I want to hear that the investigation and grievance were ultimately abandoned for lack of evidence. I want the Phillies to lose in the playoffs when Beltran loses track of the number of outs and throws a ball into the stands, allowing 3 runs to score. I want him re-signed to an incentive laden deal three hours after players are allowed to file for free agency. At his press conference, I want him to talk about how excited he is to be back with the Mets, especially in light of the extension Reyes signed during the ten day exclusive window. I want to read reports that Boras, Beltran and Alderson are in a corner snickering with each other, then suddenly shush each other when Ruben Amaro Jr. walks by. In October 2012, I want Beltran to talk about how the World Series MVP crown means nothing to him, he's just happy that the Mets are champions. This is what I want for Carlos Beltran. Yeah, this sounds about right.
  23. I'm with Monk. Depends on the other teams, the rest of the schedule, the health of my roster, etc. Impossible to answer.
  24. TransMonk wrote: Hired gun? He's been here 7 years. He's 17th on the all-time games played as a Met list...even after all of the injuries. I understand that, but I just don't have the gut connection to Beltran (or Santana) the way I do to Wright and Reyes.
