  12. You are correct. The ones close to me just sacrificed what was left of themselves to treatment. All believed almost right until hospice. My younger brother is a cancer survivor and this just digs at me.
  13. Why do they tell stage 4 cancer patients they can make it? I have lost a few to this disease and am sick about it, angry...

Projections on how good he is going to be vary as would be expected with such limited info. He won't like that stadium.
  17. Quote: Its a perception, Alderson acknowledged Sunday. But I dont think anybody in the division could add any more talent to their roster than we can. Were talking about adding Johan Santana. Were talking about adding Ike Davis. Daniel Murphy was the fifth-leading hitter in the league when he went out with his injury. David Wright missed two months. [All are expected to be full participants in spring training.] Weve substantially improved our bullpen. So, did we add talent? I think we did, the fact that we didnt sign someone for $100 million notwithstanding. Its an uphill battle getting that message across. Feel free to forgive Sandy for any moves/non-moves if you feel his hands have been tied, but I refuse to excuse him for saying stupid shit. You know why it's an uphill battle? Because it's a dumb thing to say. From a year ago, we've lost our two best players (Reyes and Beltran) and our best reliever (Rodriguez). We've replaced them with crap. Just rebuild. Stop insulting our intelligence. The bullpen looks good, and Duda is replacing Beltran, and none of that looks like crap. For all the talk of payroll drop, it's possible that the payroll on the field could be the same as last year. The "It's a lock for the Mets to finish last" comments out there are dumb things to say. I thought 2012 Payroll was down 54 million?

  19. Sometimes...Trial starts 3/19/2012. Any of those 20 million dollar shares sold yet?
  20. Consider due diligence is being being done by salaried and relatively low paid compliance officers who have no great motivation to throw up red flags.

That about sums it up.
  22. Harrington is a financial expert. She has the sophistication to make complex financial decisions in a fiduciary capacity, in this case, for her boss. She attempted to perform due diligence on the fund manager and was basically told no you will not. Feeder Fund... A batch of money is invested with Edgy Co. and Edgy Co. offers investors the opportunity to have it fed to and managed by CeetarCo. Jose Reyes invests 100 million with JP Morgan in a JP Morgan owned fund farmed but out or fed to a third party ala Madoff to be managed. Very common now. Well Performing fund managers are in demand to do third party tinkering.
  23. Almost as bad as the WHA New York Raiders, remember John Sterling as a rookie announcer there??? Well, do ya!
  24. NY Times today "Mets on the Cheap." seems fair with the Sandy can't do much arguement.. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/09/sports/baseball/alderson-is-forced-to-remake-mets-on-the-cheap.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&ref=sports
