themetfairy wrote: My one sure fire pick is Jared Leto for Best Supporting Actor. I skipped Captain Phillips in the theaters, but will catch it on On Demand when it comes out next week. I was thinking this also about Leto also...but...as a longshot relative unknown Michael Fassbender was awesome..Check him out in a 2008 British indie backwoods horror "Eden Lake" The guy is possessed..

I'm trying to find the free online simulation with fictional players and attributes...You get a certain amount of "points" to allocate to your players abilities..You get to manage your team with each game taking from 2-10 minutes depending on your settings.. I haven't used it in a couple of years ago and want to re-up...fun and the season ends in a week.. Diamond Mine is new to me..Sure looks complete.. Anybody go back to Negamco or Big League Manager developed circa 1958 and still around?? They ended up putting out rosters with no names in lieu of paying the union...

Tomorrow Never Knows --- Mets Prospect Lists in 2014

Chris Flexen is a HS Pitcher drafted in the 14th round.. It appears there was a strong sentiment that he would honor his college commitment to AZ and dropped from about a 4th or 5th round round pick to 14. The Mets signed him for $374,400...100K over slot. He throw hard..very hard...like most the development of his secondaries will tell the tale..Kind of a sleeper..I like.. -
seawolf17 wrote: Hey y'all. I want to pick up the first Strat-O-Matic card of Stony Brook alum Tom Koehler, which I'm assuming will be in the Marlins set this year. But I don't need to buy the whole game again, and I could just go on eBay and buy it standalone, but I think it'd be more fun to get a group of people together and split the purchase and break up the teams. So if I can corral up five other people, for example, we'd get six teams each. Anyone interested? Do you have any experience with the computer version? I know its not the same but... I have been rolling the dice with the simulation Extra Innings...Jeff Sagarin wrote the pitching metrics while at MIT..they give you the formula for making player cards..

Robert Whalen is a 2012 12th round draftee pitcher. A Florida native he was happy to be drafted by the Mets as his folks are from Flushing. He describes himself as built like Roger Clemens and topping out at 88-94 mph with a 12-6 curve and developing slider.. He is kinda funny looking and his face beams with unbridled enthusiasm... http://metsmerizedonline.com/2013/03/meet-2012-draft-pick-rhp-robert-whalen-a-die-hard-met-fan.html -

I'd like to see Dominic Smith become a Metly big slugger type guy. At this point would consider using Wilmer Flores as trade fodder.. -
Brian Roberts is added the the 40 man... Roberts at 2B Kelly Johnson 3B... Mets have the MFY's beat at these two spots...

Kong76 wrote: Piazza moved up in voting %, he'll get in the next year or so. It's the guys that fall dramatically that is the real story. Speculating about what someone who knew someone who wrote something in the late 90's is pretty silly in 2014. My aunt's daughter dated a guy who knew someone who had a drink with someone in a airport bar who ... Gotta love the shit-storm every year lately, it's kinda funny. Piazza may have peaked out already vote wise.. You have Randy Johnson, Pedro and some biggies coming up next year which will not help Piazza if the most you can pick is 10... Beyond one writer I believe there is a perception that Mikey was a user and I believe that was reflected in the vote.....

I believe Andro was banned by the NCAA at that time... I could see Creatine being around in a locker room and players hitting it with little thought...Just a little ovaltine to help me kinda. How prevalent was its' use? I guess the use of creatine, andro, and steroids, is open to debate..

Nymr83 wrote: Is there an automatic steroid haze surrounding Ken Griffey jr. As well? Elligible in 2 years and once looked like a future unanimous kind of guy I have not heard any rumors of abuse by Jr... He looks like a sure thing at least today. I read in ESPN that a Baseball Weekly writer named Pete Williams traveled to interview Caminiti in 1997 and came away with the idea that Piazza was using creatine. Thats news to me if to be believed. Craig Biggio got screwed. 3060 hits, cmon... Nothing else on the ballot surprised me...

I wouldn't be opposed to a consensus that PED & Steroid abuse have no bearing on voting for or against a player..

I want to hear Ralph Kiner say Taylor Teagarden...

I'm sweating the idea that if D'Arnaud goes down we might need a C for 300 PA or some sick number.... I miss John Buck..

Trying to get the best for Ike has nothing to do with the Wilpons financial woes.. Hell, I'm not sure there even are financial woes... Enlighten me..

I swear Justin Turner is an extra from The Planet of the Apes..

I don't believe this satisfies the need for an MLB backup for D'Arnaud.. Go fish..

It may be as simple as other team assigning very little value to Ike Davis... I was hoping the off season would go a little better where Ike and Duda were not involved in discussions about their roles as 2014 Mets at this point.
