  1. Leaving the Agbayani walkoff game early.. I was freezing..and he hit it right when we got on the 7...poop...
  2. I took it as the Mets would not lol..Hey..its a slow COLD day..
  3. The Baltimore Sun saying if the Mets really want that hard throwing Rodriguez Danny Murphy might work.. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/blog/bal-where-does-the-orioles-offseason-go-from-here-20140103,0,7064557.story
  4. Never would have guessed Suppan played for so many years..Beats Vladimir Guerrero by one year FWIW
  5. Mike Piazza looked like the Incredible Hulk in the late 90's much like McGwire did. It is not a natural look.. Surely circumstantial thinking on my part, but Piazza may be paying for that or similar impressions for many many years in hall voting...

  7. Edgy MD wrote: Ashie62 wrote: Sandy was/is supposed to fix 1B.. Thus far its a fail.. SS also.. Sandy was/is supposed to improve his team and the organization around him. Granted..those two positions are not the whole team but I believe improvement from those two spots came from Sandy's mouth. He noted SS..1B..OF..SP..C specifically... He has nailed 2 for 5 that I see...
  8. seawolf17 wrote: Come on, Justin Turner was not the future of this team. I liked him, but let's get real. Tejada's three closest b-r comparisons through age 23 are Cesar Izturis, Bucky Dent, and Luis Aparicio. Let's give him at least one full year to see if can really be something. I believe this may become reality. Nothing else is popping up at SS..not yet anyway... Justin Turner is a lifetime backup at best..
  9. Swoboda..too much work to explain other..
  10. Sandy was/is supposed to fix 1B.. Thus far its a fail.. SS also..
  11. They do say they are comfortable with Tejada and Ruben just needs to work on his conditioning and work ethic.. Don't we all...
  12. Better not be morning Cedarwood..
  13. Choo passes Rangers physical....Advance to go and collect 7/130.
  14. Edgy MD wrote: Am I OK with Recker? I'm not NOT OK. I imagine some vets will be brought in on minor league deals. I won't be too upset if a major league signee isn't among them, but since catchers get hurt, a big league vet would be nice. But then, our conversation gets further and further away from Stephen Drew. Sticking to Stephen Drew..He is simply too expensive for the plan Sandy and Jeff are executing. Ruben Tejada and Tovar are on board and cheap...
  15. I don't see Chris Young making the Mets any better or any worse..I'm really hoping he is not washed up and 7 million went down the bucket.
  16. Edgy MD wrote: Well, again, I don't see Morales as all that great (or all that likely) an improvement to justify the investment of limited resources. Shortstop, starting pitcher, sure. If I had money to spend, I'd look in those directions. Are you ok with Recker as the #2 behind Travis? I see Travis with 400 PA.. Soo... I agree with Vic on Morales..Kendry has a nice resume and is till coming around from his celebration dislocation. I'll take the 30/80 .290 of Morales over anything the Mets currently have. keeping Ike and Duda around really feels like punting.. Progress Sandy..it aint early anymore..
  17. metirish wrote: A dump, but it was their dump. Kinda like our Shea...
  18. The market for Drew is not getting any stronger of late.. Why any team could sign him really.....
  19. He has MFYs written all over him... Dodgers might give it run though...
  20. Reid should shift the NL balance of power.
  21. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: I really can never get enough pie. I really was hoping against hope that he'd end up with the Braves, just for gits and shiggles. But, y'know, the Tropic of Clubhouse Cancer works, too. I'm with Edgy-- the talent is there. But, hey, talent without discipline makes for really interesting "You know, I used to be a ballplayer" stories from 'Uncle Jordy' ten years from now. Talent is a dime a dozen...
  22. Davis...Smoak....and Moreland... I felt like Smoak had the highest ceiling on arrival but he has been totally dreadful.. None will get a power arm in return...
  23. 50 cent should help to fill the stands with Suburban white kids lol
  24. He will enjoy playing the big CF pinball machine as a Marlin.. He had his moments, good and bad, and will not be forgotten soon..
  25. Its easier to just ignore the reporters and bloggers and define the team on your own terms.
