Conversations about talks with the Padres have ground to a halt The Padres sign Michael King, the Mets make a few moves and it's almost as if there was never anything to any of this if there ever was in a life during wartime

Are we talking about Framber Valdez?
ashie62 replied to Marshmallowmilkshake's topic in New York Mets Talk
In what world does Framber Valdez get 200 million to possibly shuttle between the mound and the IL? This one I guess Wouldn't it make better sense to see MacLean Sproat and Tong as "newly acquired" for 2026 and save some powder? I understand these young guys are risky also -
I'd imagine the Mets were paying for family influence on some level
-
It was brought up here
-
Interesting. They do seem to take on a life of their own at times

Ofreidy has been getting cups of coffee in the Mexican league 30 years old and no longer invisible to the baseball Gods I thought I saw he got a two year deal but that seems unlikely Good luck to him. It's a Christmas miracle!

Jose Rojas looks suspiciously like Lindor
-
I know, this is like the Christian Pache signing but it felt good
-
I'm almost certain Stearns will service time Benge and the others into May
-
It only takes 85-86 games to make the postseason That may be the goal Stearns is going to go crickets from here in?? As dick picker Mickey Callaway recently said "It'd better work"
-
This is gold
-
And I'm hoping for Bellinger or Tucker, I must be nuts In a couple of years Stearns could be as popular as Mussolini
-
Nah Hays makes Luis Robert look like a Golden God
-
I needed the laughs above This has been the Hunger Games holiday season here
-
It's ALL about building the on ramp for the young talent I don't think Stearns is going to sign a "big" name at this point Unless you consider moves for Luis Robert, Bichette or something of that sort "big" I did not think the collapse of 2025 would lead to this much change
-
I think the Mets threw the baby out with the bathwater
-
The guy bled Mets blue and did incredible things on the field for which I am grateful His passion was boundless even if pointed in the wrong direction at times He will be missed and remembered warmly I'm sure
-
Not surprised at all Agitators leaving
-
I saw a Gary Cohen short video yesterday as I'm sure many of you have. I took away three things 1. Believes Mets should be all in on Kyle Tucker even if he is a lefty bat and not of the 40 homer type 2. Acknowledged the possibility of a 1B platoon of Paul Goldschmidt and Jeff McNeil 3. Mets are keeping the runway open for the young guys The White Sox just spent 34 million on a free agent. Luis Robert gots to go. Guessing the White Sox demands for him have lessened My updated 2026 lineup as of today C Alvarez 1B Polanco 2B Semien 3B Baty SS Lindor LF Benge CF Robert RF Soto DH Vientos No Tucker Bellinger etc, today
-
Stearns loves him. That's all that matters The guy has the tools. I don't know that he doesn't have a ten cent brain He will be our starting CF
-
It seems counterproductive to trade Jonah Tong for a chip to get a better shot of winning a wildcard three bid
-
The Padres are not behaving like a team that is going to sell assets willy nilly anytime soon Steve Cohen got cranky with Puma online today regarding team payroll. You can see the stress from within the organization right now And on cue former Mets manager and dick pick specialist Mickey Callaway says that whatever the Mets are doing "it better work"
-
Ouch
-
The lineup could be Semien 4 Soto 9 Lindor 6 Polanco 3 Vientos DH Baty 5 McNeil 7 Alvarez 2 Taylor 8 MacLean 1 All of this changes with the addition of Cody Bellinger and possibility of Carson Benge on day one That is all.....
