  1. He was elite in surrending leads
  2. The Ji Hwan Bae City Rollers could be providing entertainment on a frosty, to early for me 3/26
  3. We shall see if Mr Tong remains a Mets as the Padres conundrum plays out Back to Christian Pache. He may not hit much be he will be an excellent defender for the handle of games he will be needed to fill
  4. He will be needed with the big club at some point
  5. The Padres paid Leo DeVries, the current #3 MLB.com prospect in all of baseball for Mason Miller So Jonah Tong is likely not enough I'm happy to have Pivetta even if he would only be good and cost effective for one year. It's less of a gamble than looking for a Griffin Canning type to come in and be better than a backend starter. Pivetta has and should continue to pitch like an ace on occasion It would not be surprising if the Padres asked about Francisco Alvarez who is young cheap and serviceable Aside from the Padres is Fransisco Lindor going to be back? I'll give it an 80% likelihood
  6. Jorge is deliciously mediocre A fill in the numbers signing Next
  7. I've assumed for some time that McNeil will not not be back Polanco's role is yet to be divined
  8. Polanco is 32 and deliciously mediocre
  9. In effect Cohen has said they will out a playoff quality team on the field I have no clue if they are just happy to make the tournament and take their chances or shoot to get a post season bye or both I believe we will be looking at a signature David Stearns in either event. Just too soon to tell
  10. To think Joe Namath was torched for Bachelors 3
  11. I thought of that. It feels like Cohen gave Mets fans the big effyou with Pete Cohen says I understand how upset the fans are, do you? Even with this and the prospect the Mets are cutting their budget and may actually stink next year I'll be watching every game and posting here, it's what I do
  12. I don't think they're going after Kyle Tucker or Alex Bregman or even Framber Valdez or any other bigger names I do believe they may be in on the two Japanese 1B/3B guys The splashier of the two is Munataka Murakami. He is 26 years old and the guy that crushed Sadahara Oh's record with 56 homers in 2022 He strikes out a lot. 28% in NPB is considered high for a league that chases less. He is considered a below average defender. He does have a big personality for what that's worth and does project big power The less talked out player is Kazuma Okataka. He is thought to be a 1B only position player. He hit .337 last year. There are some scouts that believe his hit tool translates best to our game Okataka is the player I would think to most appeal to Stearns. Analytically sound and not terribly expensive Someone mentioned some signings similar to Michael Cuddyer back in the day How about Trent Grisham or Harrison Bader for the OF. Josh Bell for DH power. Miguel Rojas of the Dodgers as our utility guy. Sorry guys, Jose Iglesias had his moment Wouldn't Chris Bassitt fit in nicely now at a lower price for two years or so. He makes starts and stays available You've got today in no particular order (I'm not counting Senga) as a basis for a rotation Peterson Maclean Sproat Tong Manaea Among a few others There is nothing sexy about any of these proposed options. They do provide some found for the Carson Benges' and Jett Williams of the Metsworld to settle in Just Thursday musings
  13. I'll be over this by Monday
  14. Steve Cohen "Oligarch" He should be ashamed of himself
  15. Me too I reckon there's more Mets to be a traded Starting with Jeff McNeil
  16. I have it today as C. Alvarez 1B Clifford 2B Semien SS Lindor 3B Baty LF. Benge CF Jett RF Soto DH Vientos Now they "could" sign Volgelbach I'm getting the feeling Stearns is listening to offers for Lindor I hope it's just interweb nonsense
  17. Juan Soto is here. Is Lindor going to be a Met opening day? The interweb is lighting up with Francisco to the Padres
  18. I'm still pissed about Strawberry. both things can be true - or something like that. 2025 was horrible, literally the worst in awhile. So, if they brought everyone back I'd still curse Nimmo and Diaz when they f*cked up - both things would be sure to happen. I was and remain a never Nimmo Diaz won't make a dent with the Dodgers Pete is lost to obscurity - those six week slumps won't be noticed Lost to obscurity, I would rather think not, maybe to you I guess ..
  19. Letting Pete go was a business season largely based on analytics It will be hard to be "satisfied" one way or the other about Pete by looking at potential Mets outcomes Pete will be hitting in a very batter friendly Camden yards and will be making sportscenter highlights very possibly early and often What the Mets do or don't do really has little effect on how I regard Pete's departure I hope the Mets win 100 and play the Orioles in the series At the end of the day I think Stearns did the easy thing in not chase the contract in money and and years but comes off as a wuss by not signing a player who has done tonz and is loved by almost all No balls no Pete LGM
  20. I saw some talk about Ryan Clifford being in the mix They may get good about the time Soto opts out
  21. Going all in on Maclean Sproat Tong Jett Bengel is a part
  22. Small market rebuild?
  23. Best part of Stearns ran down his mother's leg
  24. Welcome back
  25. Is this a rebuild year now? 1B. Vientos 2B. Semien SS. Lindor 3B. Baty LF ? CF ? RF. Soto DH ?
