Mets Guy in Michigan wrote: seawolf17 wrote: I'm coming around on the whole thing. Despite my vicious hatred for Roger Clemens, I feel like you have to put him in there. Bonds too. It's just not a representative Hall without them. But then what about Pete Rose, who clearly had a gambling addiction, now recognized as a mental wellness problem? I agree although it may be be too progressive for many to accept.

It Cuts Like a Knife: Injuries and Rehab in 2017

Thats just a picture of a guy hoping he can play. I wouldn't even call what we see a swing. -
I was Cleonjones21 and Grote15 many years and yes behaved as a jackass by all accounts. I remember the other poster as Bretsabermetric. I'd like to think the 9 year run and 13,000 posts as Ashie62 have gone better for me and hopefully the board. I do like the folk hero tag though. My wife was a hero but surely not I. LETS GO METS IN 17.

More of a regret. I wish the Mets had kept Colon and canned Jay Bruce.

Matt Weiters? Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe said the Diamondbacks and Mets can't be counted out for free agent Matt Wieters. Wieters' primary suitors appear to be the Braves and Nationals. Atlanta makes sense as Wieters played his college ball at nearby Georgia Tech while the Nationals are looking for someone to replace Wilson Ramos behind the plate. The D'backs also have a need at catcher after losing Wellington Castillo to the Orioles in free agency. The Mets don't have as clear a need, though Wieters would certainly be an upgrade on their current backstop Travis d'Arnaud. Rotoblurb says the market for 36 year old reliever Joe Blanton is "heating up." It seems to me I saw his name come up in context with the Mets some time ago. The guy is cheap, durable and rubberarmed.

It looks like we're talking about Andrew McCutchen
ashie62 replied to A Boy Named Seo's topic in New York Mets Talk
Getting McCutchen might be easier if we had not tendered Bruce. It appears we overestimated Bruce's value. Jay is part of a logjam for now. -
