  1. Love you Buddy! Feel better
  2. Just saw this. I thought the Twins were going to win this one. I'm not sure Darvish is an ace. Game on for Lance Lynn, Cobb etal.
  3. Anyone attending Tim Lincecum's workout today? Word is the freak may be freaky again.
  4. Zvon wrote: How could you not root for this smile? So his wife has a couple a fangs? Looks like his has been filed down. It appears Brandon may be a Marlboro man.
  5. Saw today Dominic Smith has lost 30 pounds going into spring training. Hopefully lost from all the right places. Looking forward to a photo. Saw earlier Duda 1 yr 5-7 million? More like 1 year 2 million. Smith and Gonzalez will do just fine. 1. Lagares/Nimmo 2. Reyes 3. Cespedes 4. Bruce 5. Frazier 6. Smith 7. d'Arnaud/Plawecki 8. Rosario 9. Da Pitcher I like that!
  6. I am pining for Carlos Gomez. That would complete the Johan Santana trade. I believe Pelfrey, Humber and Mulvey are finished.
  7. Thumbs down guy bears quite a resemblance to Mike Vaccaro.
  8. Feels nice to have a Scarlet Knight in the lineup. Lets Go Mets!
  9. Lance Lynn. A horse who eats innings. He is getting cheaper everyday.
  10. Davidoff reporting today that the Mets may place Wright on the 60 day DL as early as 2/14/18. David has not resumed baseball activities and retirement has not been planned.
  11. seawolf17 wrote: But has anyone from a team actually confirmed that? Have the Red Sox actually said "Hey, we offered the guy 5/125?" I don't think so. It's all "sources," which can potentially be a load of crap. I'm not saying there *is* collusion, but it's really weird that there are *this* many big names still floating around in February. Pretty much. There appears to be a "glut" of mediocre ballplayers looking for a home. Good luck to them all; the times they are changing. Have not seen any 5/125 signings as of Saturday 2/3/18 Just sayin.
  12. Like who?
  13. IMHO Players are being offered contracts that express their value in the "here and now." Sadly, it feels like teams are doing auction fantasy with the $26 budget. It becomes very unfunny if deGrom & Noah get away from us. Should Hosmer and Moustakis get crushed on money I could see something like former Royals teammates showing up late for camp. It might be a fugly fans and players Season of Discontent. Geez, Bruce looks expensive at 39 million.

  15. Pitcher Justin Dunn, a 2016 First Round pick is seen regressing down to A ball this season.
  16. Lest us not forget Bob Murphy's "Bowling for Dollars." Used to watch it before "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" came on.

  18. I would not be surprised if Plawecki works his way into the day one lineup.
  19. Zvon wrote: Centerfield wrote: I think we will see David on the field at some point this year. I think it will be largely unsuccessful and this will be his final year. Last game of the season, long having clinched the NL East crown, Reyes and Wright will line up at 3B and SS and get huge cheers from the Citi faithful. Maybe we can get Johan to close the game. I can go for that, yes can do. This would be nice. If David plays an inning does that mess up the insurance? He could just line up between innings I guess.
  20. Wow. The Brewers are not behaving as a non-competitive money saving team looking not to win. I am envious.
  21. My fear is that David cannot play yet does not retire. Why would he give up money on a contract due to injury? I don't understand the money and math involved here; should it "drag on" without resolution I would not like to see David viewed as a "pariah".
  22. Figured David would be a subject of much discussion so here's to a sugary new year thread. I still think of David as "Captain America" and a guy who bleeds blue. These are trying times for you David Wright. These are trying times for Met's fans; not by anytime unusual for many Mets fans this time of year. I guess Asdrubal Cabrera is the 3B today.
  23. Jeff Wilpon apparently had a conference call with beat writers and went extensively into the payroll. Says there is a plan. I'm not going to keep giving them free communications advice. Nice to see him doing that. Here it is. Sounds like he is kinda throwing Dabid under the bus. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/mets-coo-defends-payroll-being-top-five-in-payroll-hasnt-won-us-a-world-series/
  24. I just want 2B General Dozier. Interweb says Red Sox are offering 125 million to J.D. Martinez
  25. We return to 2b. Brian Dozier is still out there. He would be so goodlookin in a Mets uniform.
