  1. As you may or may not know, the 11th Star Trek film, simply entitled "Star Trek", is coming out in December 2008. The film will be a sort of reboot of the original series, with new actors playing Kirk, Spock, etc. However, Leonard Nimoy will be returning as an older Spock. J.J. Abrams (Lost, Mission: Impossible III) is directing. The following cast members have been confirmed: Spock: Zachary Quinto Older Spock: Leonard Nimoy Chekov: Anton Yelchin The remaining characters (Kirk, Bones, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura) have yet to be cast.
  2. Remember, they want to make the story set present-day. The existence of Ultimate Nick Fury allowed for him to appear in this film. The Ultimate version of Fury is a Gulf War vet. The fact that he was specifically designed to look like Jackson and that Jackson will portray him on-screen is unbelievably cool, in my opinion. Here's a picture of Ultimate Nick Fury:
  3. Nick Fury will be appearing in Iron Man, being played by none other than Samuel L. Jackson (who the Ultimate version of Nick Fury was modeled after), and who will star in his own movie. By the way, Iron Man looks unbelievable - there's footage online from the film. Downey NAILS Stark.
  4. Kickass Mets win.

  12. I wouldn't be born for nearly another 10 years.
  13. 24th round - 753rd overall - Mike Parker, SS, George Washington University Fuck yes!!! We got ourselves the best player on my college's team!!!!! He was third-team All-American and first-team All-Atlantic 10. He hit .373 with 10 homers, 60 RBI and 22 doubles. He led the team with .434 OBP, .604 slugging, and 84 hits. He ranked in the A-10's top five in seven offensive categories. I'm fucking ecstatic about this!!!

    Totally loving the M*A*S*H reference.
  16. It's about time we caught a break.
  17. I knew Alou was a bad idea from the start. Did not want him.
  18. It was the first time I have ever seen him without the jacket.
  19. I don't know what game it will be yet, they'll probably tell me soon, at which point I'll let everyone here know. Willie came across as a really positive guy, the kind of guy you get inspired by. It's no wonder players love playing for him. Didn't strike me as the lying type, but perhaps a bit forgetful - when he got up to thank all the well-known people for coming, he forgot Rick Peterson entirely and had to be reminded about Sandy Alomar and a whole bunch of other people he sees regularly. By the way, Rick Peterson is a really quiet guy. He said that Pedro's going to throw from a mound tomorrow. He also revealed his philosophy about young pitchers: either they have the makeup or they don't. So he came across as very sure of himself, but almost too sure.
