  2. Here's a bunch of full names to fill in some blanks, Yancy: Pedro Juan Feliciano Guillermo Reynoso Mota Roberto Manuel Hernandez Alain Soler Oliver Michael Perez Marlon Ordell Anderson Felix Santo Heredia
  3. Certainly not.
  4. Actually, MFS, as I understand it, it's the opposite. The mother's maiden name is actually tacked on at the end in Spanish-speaking countries. From Wikipedia article on "Family name": However, nowadays in Spain and in many countries of Hispanic culture (former Spanish colonies, e.g. Mexico, Honduras, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Venezuela), most people have two surnames, although in some situations only the first is used. The first surname is the paternal one, inherited from the father's paternal surname. The second surname is the maternal one, inherited from the mother's paternal surname. (As an example, Mexican boxer Marco Antonio Barrera's full name is Marco Antonio Barrera Tapia, though Barrera is the only one used in general conversation.)
  5. Oh wait a minute, go to the bottom of his profile on Mets.com, it says "Endy DeJesus Chavez graduated from Liceo Batalia Carabobo High School in Valencia, VZ". So I'm guessing DeJesus is right, and William is just a mistake.
  6. Huh. Strange.
  7. Also, Endy Chavez's middle name is DeJesus, not William, according to ESPN.com and Wikipedia.
  8. The editors would probably prefer a book or newspaper article.
  9. With the offense we generate out of shortstop, I would be willing to settle for an average offensive player at second base with a great glove. We need to make sure our defense up the middle stays sound.
  10. Here's a playing-days Willie Randolph.
  11. Here's Kenny Rogers again.
  12. Eliminating draft pick compensation when you lose a free agent? Thank GOD we got David Wright before they did that!
  13. Wait, what March CPF party?

  15. Dave Magadan has been named the Red Sox' hitting coach.
  16. Please, let's not forget one big reason behind this team's success: its chemistry. A Soriano has the potential to disrupt that chemistry. We have to take that into account.
  17. I have a great, great feeling about our chances next season with Willie at the helm. He knows how to handle this team. You can tell the players enjoy playing for him. His instincts have proven to be right in the big spots. I think he'll be here for a long time.
  18. The Endy Chavez Catch Second Look at the Endy Chavez Catch
  19. It does. We open in St. Louis at their home opener.
  20. Yeah, but 6 of the Cubbies' pennants were won in the 1870's and 1880's.
  21. Just look at who we open against.
  22. Thank you, Zvon, for allowing me to laugh again.
  23. Can I find it at, say, CVS?
  24. STOP. Take a deep breath. Let's get a hold of ourselves right now. A lot of us have jobs or classes in the morning, and we don't want to go to sleep angry in addition to being heartbroken. We get along pretty well here. Let's not ruin that with the aftereffects of an emotional, wrenching loss. We all come together on this forum for good-natured discussion about the Mets and other things. But at the end of the day, we've all got lives to live. Let's keep this in perspective. We've all got family, friends, and obligations. Those are far more important than the outcome of a baseball game. This is devastating, yes. But we shall live to fight another day. In the meantime, we've gotta get our acts together and remind ourselves that this isn't the worst thing that could happen to us. Keep it in perspective. Thank you.
  25. Let's all attempt to calm down. Blowing up at each other isn't going to solve anything.
