  1. Also known as the Kbler-Ross model, which I did not know until today. Here they are, as a point of reference. The stages are: 1. Denial: Example - "I feel fine."; "This can't be happening."'Not to me!" 2. Anger: Example - "Why me? It's not fair!" "NO! NO! How can you accept this!" 3. Bargaining: Example - "Just let me live to see my children graduate."; "I'll do anything, can't you stretch it out? A few more years." 4. Depression: Example - "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"; "I'm going to die . . . What's the point?" 5. Acceptance: Example - "It's going to be OK."; "I can't fight it, I may as well prepare for it." I am firmly in stage 1. I can't believe, fully, that this has happened for a second straight year.
  2. These pics are fantastic.
  3. This was the first game of 2008 that I have attended. It was also Fboy's first ever MLB game and first trip to Shea. Fun was had by all, even from Row N of the Mezz where you can't see the pop flies or the top half of the scoreboard.

  5. ="metirish"]I got this as a gift this week ,it's a Mitchell & Ness Cooperstown Collection . I don't remember seeing any Mets jersey's with the New York like that on the front. Is it form 1986/87? Hmmm. I thought they only wore the script "New York" on the road grays.
  6. ="metirish"] God Bless America. (Merged from Triple Happiness Revisited, 9/24/2008) I wang-salute this post.

    Get Up

Duke going for the Pirates , 5-14 record....sorry I was looking for a reason to be optimistic in that game. According to Mike & Mike, Gallardo has a three inning limit tonight. So they know, going in, that they need six innings from their bullpen. There's your reason for optimism. Their bullpen is suck-tastic at near-Met levels.

  9. How great, in retrospect, that the 1996-2000 Yankees gave every non-realistic nitwit with a MFY hat (or a diamond tie clip and a rich dad) the inherent belief that they should absolutely make the playoffs every single year, and now that Capt. Fabulous and his thong wearing buddies are booking tee times, a lot of those same people are crying about it. Good. I'd tell them to try being a Pirates fan, but it's just easier to dismiss all of them, from Tommy Boy himself on down, as schmucks and ****s.
  10. Ramon Hernandez looks like a fully testicled Mike Lowell.
  11. I love being right.
  12. Let's Go Mets! Ramon Martinez, your time is now. Let's fucking hope.
  13. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
  14. Nice. The RBI single is a good sign.
  15. More hits are good! Time for Sugar M. Pants to end his funk and put one in the bleachers.
  16. BOO YA! Super rookie indeed! Murph with the gapper.
  17. Yes, we get it. Baseball is good in HD. Now shut up.
  18. WOW. Big K. Jerry is dealing... Pedro2 is up.

  21. Oh yeah!
  22. How about a DP play ball?
