  1. Familia vs Alonso. I am intrigued.
  2. McCann is annoying. Francisco Alvarez can't get here fast enough.
  3. Yeah that Nimmo catch was really the closest they came to a hit. Diaz was on point like I've rarely seen him.
  4. Willets Point wrote: Well, I picked the wrong night to go out to the movies with my wife. Oh, you'll see it 4,609 times on Mets Classics.

  6. The tension isn't quite as high with multiple pitchers, but dayum........
  7. Even when Cano does something good, he screws it up.
  8. Megill didn't have his best stuff but allowed no hits. And McNeil is the Squirrel of Old. 12 outs from this bullpen always worries me, though.
  9. Wow. Surprised MLB came in that heavy. I'm sure it'll be settled for less, but still.... Not that he's not a scumbag and doesn't deserve it.
  10. Only 8 batters in that lineup. Oh, and Cano.

  12. =Gwreck post_id=90661 time=1651123269 user_id=56] Could the Mets really be planning around the decidedly nonzero chance that Cano does get popped again? Keep him around and hope either that he produces (because he's back on PEDs) or gets permanently suspended (because he's back on PEDs)?
  13. Punched my brother in the mouth when I was little. He had braces. He got the braces off, but I still have the scar.
  14. Broom will remain in the closet, I'm afraid. Not many games this year where the other team is having their way with the Mets.
  15. 4 more two-out runs, too.
  16. Edgy MD wrote: Matz getting pissy about missing a grounder and falling apart afterwards. That's peak Matz there, poor guy. Man, how many times did we see an inning like this when he was with the Mets?
  17. No Cano, always a bonus. Waiting for an infielder to make an error causing Matz to stalk around pouting.
  18. Todd's OK for the occasional fill-in.
  19. Things not to do when trying to save a 3-run lead: 1) Walk the leadoff hitter on 4 pitches.
  20. Hope Trevor May remains nailed to the bullpen bench tonight.
  21. Is it me, or does Bassitt look really red in the face tonight?
  22. Good thing he got that hit last year. It'd suck to be oh-for-career.
  23. Sending two pitchers down is the easy move. But Cano is really the third wheel here. You have JD and Dom as the natural DH's from right and left. Cano has demonstrated he can't really play defensively any more, and every at-bat he gets steals one from a more productive hitter. Buck seems to like Cano's 'veteran presence', and he seems popular in the clubhouse. But the real problem is eating the contract, which I don't think they're ready to do just yet.
  24. I still bet he doesn't throw a major league pitch this season. There'll be some rehab starts and he'll get shut down for one reason or another. Rinse and repeat.
