  1. I don't hate this move. Pham seems to have a knack for hitting and stashing him in Syracuse isn't a bad idea. No real downside here.
  2. Imagine how much fun this would have been with Gary, Keith and Ron.
  3. Mets playing doinkball, but it's working, I guess.
  4. Clean shutdown inning for Peralta. Looks locked in.
  5. Understatement of the day: "The Pirates have not been sharp to start this game"
  6. Pulling Skenes after 2/3 of an inning was not on my bingo card.
  7. Yowza! And then Yowza again! 5 runs in the first against Paul Skenes and O'neil Cruz....
  8. Benge didn't seem to track that ball well.
  9. Matt Vasgersian did the Yankee game in SF last night, and working the game in NY this afternoon. That's interesting.
  10. Al Leiter already making me remember that he's a Yankee, not Met, announcer.
  11. 1) Senga's a box o' chocolates. Could be great, could be awful, But one thing he's consistently been is fragile. So I don't know if he'll have a full season, let alone a breakout one. 2) Semien is a sunk cost. He'll get the most time at second even if he's not hitting. Baty will be bouncing around and get plenty of at-bats, but I don't think he unseats Marcus. They've got three years of him. Maybe this happens in years 2 or 3, but not the first year. If he steals time from anyone it could be Polanco. 3) Alvarez had 25 homers in '23, but then the league learned how to pitch to him. Only if he shows plate discipline this year can he get to 30. I'm skeptical. 20, yes, just on raw power. 30? Probably not.
  12. <85. This team is not a better overall team than last year's edition, and they were 83-79. Hope they prove me wrong, but I'll be the pessimist here. Too many 'ifs'. If Devin Williams makes us forget Edwin Diaz If Luis Roberts isn't just in a downward spiral. If Polanco/Baty/Vientos make us forget Pete Alonso. If Peterson's and Senga's horrible second halves aren't an indication of things to come. If Manaea's loss of velocity was just working out the kinks in spring training. If Carson Benge wasn't rushed too quickly. I could go on.
  13. Luke Weaver is the closer by June. Sean Manaea will be diagnosed early with arm problems that keep him out for the rest of the year. Bo Bichette falls victim to 'First Year Met' syndrome and has a lackluster season. It'll be blamed on his position shift. Lindor gets off to a slow start like he always does, but turns it on as the weather warms and his hand heals, putting up his usual numbers in the end.
  14. Saw it on Sunday.. Loved it.
  15. I think he was weaing 93, but I'm guessing that'll be lowered considerably. #6 and #1 are available.
