  1. Sharp Diaz is much more fun than non-sharp Diaz.
  2. Kevin Pillar has "Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen as his walk-up song. Not exactly politically correct.
  3. Hammer down, boys. Chance to put a little distance between the Metropolitans and their pursuers.
  4. Edgy MD wrote: I think this game is officially in the Tropeano Zone. Tropeano is not exactly in the zone himself.
  5. Pouring rain in NJ right now. Headed for Citi.
  6. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Oh yeah. Definitely accidentally. They tried really hard to be struck by this bullet. Absolutely. Steve and Sandy tried really hard but Bauer was just using them as leverage against the Dodgers. Lucky for us.
  7. Edgy MD wrote: I don't think that's likely so. I think giving people less for their buck is the sort of change that tends to stick. (Looks at the 52 ounce bottle of Tropicana Orange Juice that used to be 64 ounces but still costs the same)
  8. That inning where they loaded the bases with no out was typical of this. Lindor and Dom tried too hard to hit the grand slam with their swings, when a single would have been enormous.
  9. Gary's reaction here is priceless.
  10. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I'm so glad we didn't lose this game and have to count on Robert Stock to avoid a sweep. So is Lloyd Bridges. https://64.media.tumblr.com/796cfbf170d53580c27f215c279d31fa/c0cfda9ec9a45b6c-e2/s500x750/76c309a8e3ab0d25815e62085f78a4728da7b8f4.gifv>
  11. Well, that was exhausting. But in a good way.
  12. Another missed opportunity. Burnes earns a merit badge.
  13. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=70486 time=1625676031 user_id=119] Honestly, I've never heard about his being excessive in needling umpires. Not disputing you, just saying I've never heard that.
  14. Rojas is low-key, except when he's bitching to umpires, which he does entirely too often. That seems to suit this team. It seems like he kind of gets out of the way and lets them play. Not sure that's Manager of the Year stuff.
  15. =metsmarathon post_id=70478 time=1625668255 user_id=83] management cannot force labor to undergo medical procedures. in almost all circumstances. there are likely very specific rules as to what he can and cannot talk about or even advocate for in that regard, pertaining to covid. he may not even be allowed to officially know who on his team is vaccinated right now and who is not. i say this from personal experience. i am currently in a supervisory role. i am not permitted to try to ascertain the vaccination status of my employees. but then, i'm probably a chickenshit pansy too.
  16. Not a big Rojas fan, but that answer was pitch-perfect.
  17. Nothing comes easy with these guys. But it's a W.
  18. Not scoring with the bases loaded and no outs better not cost them.
  19. Even hitters I want to bench get hits!
  20. It seems like every Met game this year has been 1-1 at the end of 6 innings.
  21. Edgy MD wrote: So, if you sit Conforto, is that in favor of a Villar/Pillar type o' platoon in right? Pillar's been squeezed out by Nimmo, so I'm OK with a Pillforto platoon for a bit.
  22. It may have worked, but I want Lindor swinging in that situation. He's not getting $341 million to bunt. And Conforto needs to sit. It's just not happening for him right now.
  23. Good job by Megill. 6 innings would have been nice, but he's done.
  24. Lindor bunting drives me crazy.
