  2. Funny timing on this Klaptrap article, came out the day after what I posted above. https://www.nj.com/mets/2023/06/sorry-buck-showalter-isnt-the-reason-for-mets-collapse-klapisch.htmlhttps://www.nj.com/mets/2023/06/sorry-buck-showalter-isnt-the-reason-for-mets-collapse-klapisch.html
  3. It was 30 years ago this year that Bob Klaptrap released the worst team that money could buy. The Mets are doing their best to give Klaptrap a sequel.

  5. If we continue to stink, I wouldn't be surprised by the end of 2023...
  6. =MFS62 post_id=127777 time=1686092079 user_id=60] Maybe they can send Vogelbach there to clean the air. He sucks so much he could clean the air over the entire city. Later
  7. I'm surprised that the title of the thread hasn't changed to : "Memories of deGrom's ulnar collateral ligament"
  8. Things like great defense and driving up a starting pitcher's pitch count are good, but not if you're team's offense can't score runs
  9. the Indians recently DFA'd Zach Plesac... Plesac has been a disaster this season, but I wonder if the 2 could be DFA replacements to each other... as bad as a hitter that Nido is, it's not like the Indians catchers are any better (32 y.o. Zunino is hitting .189 with a .613 OPS, which isn't far off from his career numbers...and their backups haven't been any better)... and at 28, Plesac could at least be AAAA bullpen filler...
  10. schwarber is a whiner....take a seat and STFU...
  11. He could go two he did have a few multiple inning outings last season...not always successfully, but he can throw that many pitches https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/36110/year/2022/category/pitchinghttps://www.espn.com/mlb/player/gamelog/_/id/36110/year/2022/category/pitching

Always thought that it was weird that NYC had the Mets, Nets and Jets...and a decent amount of Mets fans were also Nets/Jets fans... personally, I never liked the Jets...and only liked the ABA version of the Nets...once the Nets had to sell off Dr J when they entered the NBA, I became a 76ers fan...
  13. weird technicality question now with the universal DH... If a pitcher enters a game as a Pinch Hitter, can he stay in the game as a pitcher without losing the DH? In other words, if Soto pinch hit for Sosa...can Sota continue to pitch, while someone else takes Sosa's spot in the order and in the field?
  14. =ashie62 post_id=127195 time=1685644189 user_id=90] Pete's not hitting with authority?
  15. he's hitting .136 with a .136 slugging percentage this season with "Runners in Scoring Position" 3 singles in 22 At Bats prior to today's failures...
  16. Edgy MD wrote: That's the best time to be swinging. for most players...but not when he can't hit the ball with any authority this season...
  17. Edgy MD wrote: =bmfc1 post_id=127184 time=1685643560 user_id=73] If Vogelbach doesn't walk he's almost worthless at the moment. The moment will pass.
  18. =vtmet7 post_id=127175 time=1685641801 user_id=80] getting really sick of seeing Voglebus in the lineup...I think that I have more faith in Nido getting an RBI with a runner on 2nd, then I have confidence that Voglebus will drive in the runner...
  19. Edgy MD wrote: The answer to that is that the ballpark won't be what generates money for the state and municipality. The gambling will be. I saw something yesterday that the A's are leaning towards 4 pm starts as their default starting time...their logic: people can go to the game and then still have time to hit the casinos afterwards...
  20. pete could have bunted for a hit and RBI with how much room was between the 1B/2B...but he whiffs against a groundball pitcher that doesn't get a lot of swings and misses...
  21. I am sure that this has been discussed before but...I really don't like all the betting information that SNY and MLB Network supply during the games, highlight shows and pre/post game shows...Shoeless Joe must be rolling over in his grave when he hears it...

  23. =MFS62 post_id=126910 time=1685400064 user_id=60] It was my way of noting that he's been getting clobbered regularly and not one or two bad outings skewing the numbers. Later
  24. remember when Alonso batted 2nd in his rookie season? In 320 Plate Appearances as a #2 hitter in his rookie season (70 starts): 26 Home runs; 15 doubles; 1 triple; 52 RBI; 53 Runs scored; 80 hits; .288/.378/.630/1.008; https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=alonspe01&year=2019&t=bhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=alonspe01&year=2019&t=b that could be a great spot for Alvarez to get good pitches to hit, and to help the Mets fix their first inning scoring woes...
  25. cal sharpie wrote: Picked other since he's hitting second today. Buck lurks here, threw a wrench in the poll for a hoot... That would be cool, but even if Buck accidentally found the Crane Pool forum when googling, what's the chance that he would understand what a Crane Pool was in relation to the Mets? He would probably think that it's about birds
