  3. Is that her hiney or a bikini bottom?
  4. My son mentioned to me that while he and his wife were house hunting, one of the places they looked at was next door to Mike Mussina. I had a giggle imagining Tony, a lifelong Indians fan, walking next door and teasing him about the Indians beating theYankees in so many games we watched together
  5. And just my two cents, with all the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ out there, it's total BS
  6. Williamsport and state college were on the chopping block
  7. Honestly I don't remember if dad and I ever got to see him pitch in person

But I have to pay my respects to my first baseball hero. I've had various infatuations since, but he's still the one. When I look at footage of him--there's disappointingly little of him in his prime--just the way he moved, the angle of his knee when he raised it near his chest, the the delivery, even the angle of his wrist as he caught the throw back from Grote, is instantly familiar, completely distinctive, forty-five or more years later. I didn't live in New York, I only saw him pitch once in person, I didn't share my fandom with anyone in the Pirate country where I grew up, but I think I felt as much as any of you what he meant, what he was. What can I even say about him? He was Tom Seaver. Yeah! The angle of his glove. His total confidence and self assurance. I was just a dumb kid and a girl to boot but that kind of thing was noticeable to someone looking for the answers to life and maturity Not my favorite Met by a long shot but dang, anyone from any walk of life could admire Tom And Nancy omg
  9. My dad loved his laugh

  17. 8. Opie Taylor representing Fuller Brushes
  18. The Go-Gos pleasantly remind me of minor league baseball
  19. Personally I feel it's much more meaningful if they don't reschedule Im a little confused
  20. Edgy MD wrote: So, it ends with BVW throwing Jeff Wilpon under a tremendous bus. Except that can't be the end, at all. I mean, he could have said that he misunderstood and left it that that. "I'm now confident that scenario I was describing did not come from the commissioner's office at all, and for that, I'm embarrassed." But despite most people's natural inclination to take flak for the boss, he just went and painted an X on Jeff's back. If you want to read the tea leaves, you might conclude that Jeff Wilpon is very much a dead man walking in the organization at this point. OE: I've really got to stop mixing metaphors. That was four in two sentences. I only count three
  21. Ha! Remember that giant poster? It was the original thumbnail photos
  22. Ya know, the mayor of my town is in a band and sings this so well. Every time I'm somewhere that he's playing I ask his wife if they are singing it and she just smiles at me And then they get out that fiddle
