  2. Has anyone killed two remakes (that shouldn't have been made) like Matthew Broderick?
  3. Vic Sage wrote: i had no problem with the accents. I wasn't even aware of them after a while. What accents? They were speaking proper English. I found it quite refreshing when I noticed that T'Chala does not use contractions
  4. Finally saw this (It's now on Hulu) I was simply blown away.
  5. I thoroughly enjoyed Black Panther, but it had better theme music when it was pink.
  6. It was fun and entertaining, but went for the joke too often. I don't want to get into any spoilers, but there were a few moments that should have been handled with a little more emotional weight, but either cut to a joke, or weren't addressed at all.
  7. Easily the most grounded of all of the Spider-Man movies, and the most enjoyable. It hit all of the right notes, from the opening theme, to the amount of humor, to keeping Robert Downey, Jr. from hogging the movie, to some really cool Easter eggs. I could go on and on. This movie went light on the action, and made up for it with a lot of heart. I liked this even more than Wonder Woman. Oh, and the funniest after credits scene ever.

  9. Edgy MD wrote: Joel Schumacher has recently openly apologized for Batman Forever, including the nipple pouches. Yeah, it stunk, but I didn't find it particularly worse than the other three movies from that serial. George Clooney (at a surprise appearance at New York Comic Con a couple of years ago.) wrote: I saw Adam West backstage. The only thing I could say to him was, "I'm sorry" BTW, I don't think Wonder Woman has nipple pouches. I think that's just a reflection in that particular shot.
  10. George Clooney wonders what the big deal is with nipple pouches....
  11. I thought it was amazing. Definitely the best of the recent DC movies.
  12. It was a paint-by-the-numbers, safe, comic book movie. Baby Groot is popular? make him dance through most of the movie. If this was part of a TV series, it would have been a filler episode. Nowhere near as good as the first one.

And it's not just because she's easy on the eyes. Even the way she eats her green meal on Jakku is compelling. If you asked me before the movie, who is worthy of taking over the Falcon, I would have said no one. Never. Impossible. But when she did it, it was seamless. When she called that lightsaber, it made you want to stand up and cheer. This made me think of a possibly apocryphal story regarding Harrison Ford: A director once said to him, "The minute you saw Tony Curtis on screen, playing a grocery delivery boy, you knew he was going to be a star," to which Ford replied, "I thought he was supposed to be a grocery delivery boy."
  18. Star Wars: The Force Awakens - The best movie I've seen this year. Yes, it borrowed heavily from the source material, but i think that was done to provide a firm launching point for the next two movies. Hopefully, JJ won't shit all over the next movie like he did while making the second Nu Trek movie. Creed - Much better than it had any right to be, mainly due to Michael B. Jordan's performance. Ant Man - This was a fun movie that was better than the non-existant expectations that I had. Jurassic World - My God was this movie ludicrous, but it was really good fun. Avengers: Age Of Ultron - A complete Shitfest. This movie confirmed what I feared: Kevin Feige killed Joss Whedon, and replaced him with an animatronic duplicate from Disney. This had none of the heart of the original, and CGI was shit. The Good Dinosaur - I could not get past the animation. First rule of animation is to get the basic biology right. With the exception of Star Wars and Creed, The offerings I watched on Netflix (Broadchurch, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil) surpassed what I saw in the theater.
  19. TransMonk wrote: I'm guessing it will be later revealed that Rey (PURE CONJECTURE)=#F5D0A9]is the daughter of Leia. Maybe shortly after her and Han split, she discovered she was preggers but didn't tell him and "hid" Rey on Jakku to keep her from Snoke/Kylo Ren. Or, heck, maybe she's descended from Luke directly. It seems like she has some familial relationship to the group.(/PURE CONJECTURE) Either this, or (Conjecture) =#E4EEF3]Rey is the daughter of Luke and Mara Jade. Mara Jade is the most popular of the Extended Universe characters, and it would be great to have her back story added to Canon. (/conjecture) The movie was a lot of fun, but left me wanting more. Reportly, Disney had Abrams trim 20 minutes or so from his original cut. Hopefully there will be a director's cut version that will answer some of our questions
  20. Rocky trains Apollo Creed's son. Go see this movie. It is much better than it had any right to be. I give it a solid 8 [youtube:3sezr1c1]Uv554B7YHk4[/youtube:3sezr1c1] [youtube:3sezr1c1]JQ9OhBYjTds[/youtube:3sezr1c1]

  22. I love the Netflix/Marvel TV universe. I like where they're going with Luke Cage, building him up slowly through Jessica Jones before his series starts. BTW, Jeff Loeb seems to be the anti-Kevin Feige. I spent most of the time down in the tunnels shooting cosplayers, but got into a few panels. The Firefly panel was fun, so was the Adult Swim panel...
  23. I'm a little Marvelled out - I haven't seen Ant-Man yet, and I felt 3 of the previous 4 movies were underwhelming (Guardians of the Galaxy being the lone exception). I'm more excited about the Jessica Jones series on Netflix next month. We were shown the first episode at ComicCon this weekend, and it was very good.
  24. You know what would be great? If the cheap-assed owners of the B-Mets would spring for numbers on the front of the uniforms... Mr. Cecchini did flash some nice leather in New Britain:
