ATLANTA -- Hedge fund manager David Einhorn, who is currently in exclusive negotiations to buy a $200-million minority stake in the Mets, could eventually up his share to 60 percent for an additional cost of $1, Forbes reported Wednesday. The financial magazine reported that if the Wilpon family does not pay back Einhorn's $200 million investment in three years, he can obtain a controlling share in the Mets -- a team that some have valued at more than $1 billion -- for a total cost of $200,000,001. The Mets have not commented on any details of the pending deal, publicly confirming only that they are in exclusive negotiations with Einhorn.
