Remember when Murph used to say "When the Mets start hitting again -- and they will..."?

I do spend a lot of time listening to the Mets on the radio, but I have XM for my car abd AtBat at home, so I'm covered. No cable or dish at home (Roku only) so I need radio. The worst part of the Yankees moving to WFAN is how much Mike Francesa will like it.

I worry less about money than most here. The idea that a player may be overpaid doesn't terrify me much. If the Mets don't sign a powerhitting outfielder it'll be because they couldn't make the right deal with the right one, not because they also signed a pitcher.

    I'd welcome Jose back.

He wasn't the first player to take himself out of a game to preserve a batting title. In fact, at one time - 1941 - the big news was a player NOT doing that, when it was assumed he would.

How did Dice-clay get any votes at all?
  8. Theoldmole
Basically, I agree. I don't want to,see Murphy gone either.

Choo is a popular choice, and would be a good choice. And I kinda like Morneau. I really want to see them get a better shortstop, but I don't know that there are any available. The era of glut of blue chip shortstops, like big government, is over. I can see them trading Murphy if (a) they can get a good return for him, ( Flores is ready to take over at second. Eric Young was a pleasant surprise, but I'm not inking him in as the answer to their leadoff prayers, especially if Choo is on the team. (And if we do sign him, do we call him "Mr. Choo"?) Lincecum is just silly.

One opinion. The part that makes the least sense to me is going after Lincecum.

    What happened to Nieae?

It makes sense to fill out this season. They need an arm that will eat up innings, if arms can eat.

    Wheeler 5 Byrd 2 Murphy 2 Germen 1

I'd add a video ombudsman, who decides if a play is close enough to merit a replay, rather than making it the manager's call.

Why does there need to be an equivalent term. Everyone knows what Sayonara means. I say we should adopt it.

I'm with Zvon. Besides, fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you.

    Gee - 5 Hawkins - 2 Flores - 1 Murphy - 1 Byrd - 1

    But he finished the game?
  20. Theoldmole
My internet crapped out just before whatever happened happened. So I missed it. What happened?
  21. Theoldmole
Only possible one, John Buck. But I predict no trades. Deadline approaching fast.
  22. Theoldmole
This is the kind of information I come here for.
  23. Theoldmole
What are Ike 's numbers since his recall?
  24. Theoldmole
Who cares Couldn't this legitimately be said about every post on every sports forum?
  25. Theoldmole
    Joe Charbonneau.
