It's a Coors game in Truist Park. I find myself counting the number of outs left when we're not even halfway. Nogosek had to get three double-play balls to get out of the inning there.
Álvarez' 2023 debut at DH, I believe. Vientos' MLB starting debut at first. He played a single inning there in the blowout over the Cubs two weeks ago.
All I want is a team that takes pitches. We know the team can afford highly sought-after personnel, but the real edge we need is philosophical. The Mets had a good grip on the game after Nimmo's 10-pitch leadoff walk. If they stayed on that path, they would have chased Morton by the end of the third. It's not like he really found the plate until the fourth.
That won't happen. Credit to the Braves though. I'd really like to know how they do it, calling up players with half the seasoning of other team's prospects, and having them arrive fully ready to perform at top level.
