  1. Vitello seemed tio want to get tossed there.
  2. One play I have hoped to see my whole life is a two-base tag-up. I'm thinking if Young didn't pull it off on that play where Bader fell down, I'm not going to see it.
  3. Y'all gotta stop shit-posting about Jared Young. He can do stuff.
  4. Crap way to get knocked out of the game for Senga.
  5. Opening the broadcast with Steve Gelbs interview of Clay Holmes. That's a wrinkle.
  6. I imagine out-walking the other team better aligns with winning (these days in particular) than out-hitting the other team.
  7. Your final is 9-0. The Giants could have forfeited and gotten the same result.
  8. Giants sending a position player to the mound in the ninth. Silly new rule says that no ball/strike challenges are allowed with position players on the mound.
  9. Tommie Agee hit 26 homers in 1969. It is likely one of those was against his division rival Bob Gibson.
  10. Benge staying in center after Taylor has entered the game is interesting. It may just be a concession of the 8-0 lead.
  11. I tried to log in to MLB.tv at 3-0. I sent 20 minutes sending login codes to old e-mail addresses and my cell phone, and they scored five runs before I finally got in. Yay?
  12. Mets haven't posted a lineup yet, however much that may help you read the tea leaves.
  13. Kranepool was a Met and Jenkins was a Cub. Kranepool was a lefty and Jenkins a righty. The wind tended to blow out at Wrigley. I'm guessing Krane must've parked one or two against Fergie.
  14. I like to think that Ed Kranepool brought shame upon the House of Niekro once or twice.
  15. Dissatisfied with having the fifth-best bullpen ERA in Major League Baseball, the Mets have signed veteran righthander Luke Jackson to a minor league dealio. Luke, probably unrelated to the Luke Jackson known for his cool hands (though I have not checked how many hard-boiled eggs he can eat, or assessed his communications skills) pitched for three different teams in 2025, as part of a 10-year career of MLB relievin'. Since missing 2022 following UCL surgery, his career has been through enough transactions that, when he passes, the news will not report that he has died, only that he has been designated for assignment. Still, he is most famous for winning a World Series with the 2021 Braves, and celebrating by cuddling his month-old son on the field.
  16. No transactions announced that I have seen.
  17. I tend to cross my breath and hold my fingers, which maybe doesn't help as much, but it's a good conversation starter.
  18. Can't find what level if any Chris Suero has been assigned to.
  19. And the game is in the bag! Coming up on PIX-11, it's American Bible Challenge!
  20. No more homers from Alvarez, but we have a rare Luis Garcia sighting in the wild.
  21. I realize I'm likely alone in this hour, but Alvarez is gonna get one more chance for a third homer.
  22. Don't hang Lovelady when you see a run on his record in the morning box. It was kind of a cheapie.
  23. That's three questionable stop signs by Leiper tonight.
  24. That's a helluva typo! Let's give Piazza a Randy Johnson ticket.
  25. Tacking on any more runs will just prove that there's an organizational conspiracy to get Tim Leiper off the hook.
