  1. My All-Sluggish Mets Team p: Bartolo Colon c: Wilson Ramos 1b: Mo Vaughn 2b: Juan Uribe 3b: Robin Ventura (in fairness, he came to the Mets immediately after rehabbing from an ankle injury that was BOTH a compound fracture AND a dislocation) ss: Wilmer Flores lf: Todd Hundley (that's cheating, but I already kind of cheated with Juan Uribe), otherwise, go with Lucas Duda cf: Duke Snider (I could be wrong, be he sure looked too old and too heavy in the 1963 bits I've seen) rf: Rusty Staub I (His other skills made him an average-ish outfielder, but they had a lot to make up for)
  2. Up from Syracuse with Scott is Ronny Mauricio, batting eighth and playing shortstop. The Lake Minnetonka team includes that Byron Buxton character. MINNESOTA Joe Ryan RHP 2-2, 3.29 ERA Byron Buxton (R) CF Trevor Larnach (L) LF Josh Bell (S) DH Ryan Jeffers (R) C Kody Clemens (L) 1B Austin Martin (R) RF Luke Keaschall (R) 2B Brooks Lee (S) SS Tristan Gray (L) 3B METS Christian Scott RHP 0-0, No ERA to Speak Of Bo Bichette (R) 3B Juan Soto (L) DH Francisco Alvarez (R) C Luis Robert Jr. (R) CF Brett Baty (L) RF Mark Vientos (R) 1B Marcus Semien (R) 2B Ronny Mauricio (S) SS Carson Benge (L) LF
  3. I have my doubts that Devin Williams is holding the closer job right now.
  4. Since we have contributed to it, it is seemingly upper-level heavy, presumably because we are more familiar with the prospects who have been around for a few years. On the other hand, the Mets may just have an upper-level heavy system, with regards to their talent.
  5. That could be a poll right there. The same shot with different layering, framing, and saturation. I'd go with The Daily News. The saturation really brings out the royal in the royal blue, even if the three-quarter framing and the word RELIEF right in front of his crotch add to the effect that Weaver is emptying a bursting bladder. I suspect I tend to vote for a lot of Daily News covers because of the color saturation, especially in night-game shots.
  6. I bet, in a race around bases, Vientos would score and reach second on lap two before Wilmer Flores came around. And young Wilmer was as fit as a fiddle.
  7. With regard to image posting, right_click the photo of your subject wherever it resides on the Internet, select "Copy image URL" from the menu, and then just drop the URL into a post here.
  8. It's nice to see the reliever qualify for the win and still go back out there and finish his own work.
  9. OK, fine! I like Lindor again!
  10. Wilmer Flores has feelings, you know.
  11. Actually, I didn't think you were posting about the game when you wrote that.
  12. WoW. Congratulations to the fans for bringing a playoff intensity. Congratulations to the players for it also, even if they expressed that intensity with some boneheadedness.
  13. I make an Outman reference and now here he is. I'm a jerk.
  14. And now we have the closer question coming up. Did anybody answer that one earlier?
  15. Wow, Wallner shoulda dove for that one!
  16. Benge not running for Alvarez here, either.
  17. Soto not quite as dead a duck as Vientos, but goodness, the smell of duck is in the air. Goodness with the base outs tonight.
  18. Did not know Taylor Rogers was back with the Twins. Probably not the first actual identical Twin on the Twins, but maybe. And now he has twin tenures as a Twin.
  19. Alvarez squeezes that popup and the fans roar like it's game seven of a playoff series.
  20. The Mets need to get .091 backup Twins centerfielder James Outman into the game.
  21. But come on. Lock it down, Brooks.
  22. I wasn't up for sending Raley out there to face Buxton, but that was some impressive work out of the gate.
