  1. It's pretty close to together as it is. I don't see how Polanco not see that guy taking ten seconds to get his curveball grip together, but it's doubly absurd to see them openly signaling the curve from the dugout. Pol can't buy a hit right now.
  2. Kinda feel like Smindor should have taken second on the throw. If he had, he'd be home by now.
  3. Hey, National League opponents! Mets pitchers go six! Deal with it!
  4. I'm all about the Mets not failing. I'm also all about Phil Lynott.
  5. I'm not sure I follow rooting for whiffs. Even is in wetter delay.
  6. That's two references in one day to 90s rap songs about panhandlers. I never knew that was my sweet spot.
  7. Different hat. Different beard. Same exact dude. The guy on the left and the guy on the right both drink a lot of liquor, but they don't drink piss.
  8. Please stop with your melanin-inspired hand-wringing. Of course this is Johnny Monell! Who else could it be?! Johnny Monell is the bum on my stoop I gave him fifty cents to buy some soup He knows the time, with the fresh Gucci watch He's even more over than my mayor Ed Koch! 9. The upside of that Juan Soto injury is more Jorge Polanco for your buck! Now in all-new Batting Eighth flavor! 10. That would have been a great clue, but no, Kevin Plawecki has already been eliminated as an answer for #1. 11. In terms of years, I'm putting all my chips on the Koosman → Orosco Tree.
  12. This trade tree is, in a very real sense, still alive, and even providing value (albeit negative value) to the 2026 Mets, as the team select Nick Morabito 75th overall in the 2022 amateur draft as compensation for losing Big Noah in free agency.
  13. Him keeping one of the longest trade trees alive was going to be one of my clues, but I was afraid that that interrupting technicality would make that clue more confusing.
  14. Appeared in as many as 96 games for the Mets, due to injuries to others, but actually was a third-stringer for a not insignificant period.
  15. I sorry, Spanky. I mean #7.
  16. If the Mets have to take egg on their face by sending Peralta back to Brewers for less than they sent for him, maybe they can also trnasfer Brazoban back to the Marlins for more than they sent for him. I kid there, but I mostly agree smg58 the above. Folks jump on the next big thing in analytics while never having philosophically absorbed effectively applied the last big thing. If you can't get your players to not go up there swinging when the tying run is behind them in the ninth, then I don't want to hear no shit about no launch angles. We have space-age data available to us while we are ignoring stone-age cause/effect relationships. Richness won't protect you from this. It could, in fact, make you more prone to fad chasing.
  17. Yorkie York is, sadly, incorrect. A hint for #2 #7 is that he had the chance to back up not one, but two Hall of Fame catchers. 18. I understood that tat to read "Believe."
  19. The Delaware infielder is Mr. Joey "Have a dollar" Wendle.
  20. I like the radical self-examination here.
