  1. Remember back in the spring, when Reed Garrett relief wins were the only kind of wins we ever got? Let's have one of those.
  2. Hi, I'm Francisco Lindor ... and I work here.
  3. I like how the batter goes back to the bench, pulls out a tablet, and examines his at-bat, trying to make sure he's maximizing his opportunities. And the pitcher sits down between innings and checks out his sequences, makes sure he's optimizing his pitches. And the home plate ump stands there between innings, just thinking about the great job he's doing.
  4. Well, that's 73 pitches. It would help if Marvin Hudson wasn't giving him that called strike off the plate away.
  5. We haven't even pushed the McNeil Button yet.
  6. Pace yourself, kids. It's a nine-inning game.
  7. I'm glad to see that the Mets in black jerseys doesn't stop them from wearing blue warmup tops and jackets.
  8. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=176178 time=1729126761 user_id=119] Walks, leaving runners -- back into the old habits.
  9. =metsmarathon post_id=176171 time=1729126520 user_id=83] Damn. Buehler is on tonight…
  10. That overswing on pitch one by Álvarez was ridiculum, but Buehler pitched him perfectly after that.
  11. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Is Severino going to lose his Gold Glove nomination? As long as Ohtani loses his presumptive MVP, I'm OK with that.
  12. It's nice to make a catch that pretty and get to cop a feel of Marte too.
  13. Sevvy's depth perception is off. That can happen when the adrenaline is flaring up.
  14. Rodriguez, Ortíz, and Jeter wearing gloves and looking like they're out there trying to burgle something. It's all so awkward, and you know Jeter has some understanding with the network that he's not sitting next to A-Rod.
  15. Exactly. TINDERBOX!!
  16. It should be fine. But if these comments circulate, and get inflated on talk radio and social media, and then he strikes out tonight against a slider with runners on once or twice, and Mets fans start booing, it could turn into a thing.
  17. Is Carlos Beltran funny? Because the older he gets, the more he looks like he's here to lay some yuks down. 18. It seems like the real issue isn't whether the park can be repaired, or whether it can be repaired by opening day, but whether anyone wants to bother repairing it, with a new Rays' home due to open in a few years, which is a sad state of affairs. The largest stadium in the United States without a major-league team is Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, the 24,000-seat home of the College World Series. Excuse me, but my name is Oakland-Alameda County Stadium, and I'm standing right here.
  19. Well, since they averaged 16,515 fans per game, I'm sure they can do fine close to the bay area at a college field, spring training facility, or minor league park until the roof is repaired. Heck, they should take over Steinbrenner Field. It's got the biggest capacity of all spring training parks and it's kind of inexplicable that they leave their home city to the Yankees in the spring while they take off down the coast for Port Charlotte. Is there that much structural damage apart from the fabric roof being blown off?
  20. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: JD wants to play but doesn't care who wins. On the other hand, JD was one of our three voters who'd prefer a Mets win to a Trump loss, so … .
  21. =kcmets post_id=175266 time=1728587333 user_id=53] I've yet to google and learn what a Shaolin monk is. I will, in the off-season.
  22. It appears to be late stage, 21st century, with the full range of neon characters on the exterior, plus it looks like they have one of the two murals that were painted on the end of the grandstands. The "Baseball Is for Kids" program, advertised on the back of the scoreboard, arrived around the turn of the century too.
  23. Koosman to Garrett and Jones to Boswell on deck.
  24. This is the off-date in the post-season so you know Matt Harvey is stuck in traffic.
