    Yesterday's broadcast booth (not sure which character) kept describing the Mets as being particularly up against it because of their intent to throw a "bullpen game" today. Whether Senga or Peterson got the start, it was never intended to be a bullpen game.

    At the age I'm at, every day is starting to feel like a potential elimination. No point in giving myself a stroke over it — though I'm sure my pressure will rise (and my butt will squeak) if the game is tight in the late innings. Fight, fight, fight, but let there be ice cream for everybody afterwards.

    Not complaining, but I was kind of expecting to see Marte, as our most consistent hitter not named Vientos of late, bumped into the two-hole. Only one not flailing as he swings for the fences, anyhow.

    Winker displaces Martinez, The McNeil Button is pressed, displacing Iglesias, and Taylor takes the centerfield gig back from Baderhosen. But Álvarez is back out there, even with the commissioner's signature freshly tattooed backwards into his thigh. I'm all in, Carlos.

    A lot of decisions to sleep on. Senga vs. Peterson seems to have already been decided, but Mendoza still has to weigh Álvarez vs Torrens, Iglesias vs. McNichol, Martinez vs. Winker, Bader vs. Taylor, Acuña vs. Anybody, and LL Cool J vs. Kool Moe Dee.

    Tomorrow, the Mets will have the Dodgers responding as if they were covered in tarantulas. I have foreseen it.
