  1. Would like an alternative Ann Dickey shot. I'm not confident in that one. Most of the ones I've found feature her in the distance, but that slender nose doesn't seem right. I subscribe to Valdespin's tweets. My Spanish ain't so hot, but he seems to use it just for macking.
  2. Ceetar-augmented updates. The rest of youse have to pull your weight.
  3. Oh. Oh, dear.
  4. Booooo.... Hate furniture!
  5. Didn't Dudissima have a wrist injury in college that sapped his power in his early pro career?
  6. No, but the surgery was.
  7. I guess this will spill over into the 2013 thread, but Lucas Duda has apparently undergone surgery to repair a wrist he fractured while moving furniture.
  8. No, Torres, like Pelfrey, remains property of the Mets, even though both certainly look like a non-tender candidates.
  9. Rauch? Hey, we need free agent wives too!

  11. Spot any blurry Mets in that congregation?
  12. Some money stuff. I'll add tonight. Thanks. Sarah Grace Hefner, the craftiest of Met wives, we certainly don't lack. She will be added with the 15 wives who round out the 40-Wife Roster.
  13. That's what Wes Anderson makes, man. Bittersweet, tragic and retro-stylized. I like that this was actually set in an actual year --- 1965, I think --- instead of so many of his films which are set in more or less contemporary times but seem to be psychologically caught in Anderson's 1970s childhood.
  14. Wait, that's Tori in the tiara?
  15. Important to note in this crazy-assed photo is that she's wearing a badge that says "A Night with Ike Davis: VIP" Also notable is that she's surrrounded by not one, not two, but three flannel-flying young men. Which reminds me of something I noted in the photo I cropped Ike's huggy-huggy shot: Ike --- despite being a big-shot big-leaguer and the son of a big-shot big-leaguer --- is not particular about the class of party he will rock. Drinking from the a plastic cup in the unrenovated kitchen of a grad student group home? Oh, yeah, he's all over that. Daddy Ron would do well to warn him about the age of the young ladies he parties with, however.
  16. Maegan's alternative bridal ensemble. Actually, this beats the wedding shot:

  18. Fman99 wrote: This thread is undeniably creepy. I approve. Kudos to Bobby Parnell. Makes me want to "throw the heater" at her. Maegan and Bobby will make their home in Salisbury. You can still get 'em the snowflake napkin holder at Crate & B, or perhaps the modular dishware or cocktail shaker at Macy's.
  19. Bed, Bath, and Beyond, of course. Your feelings may differ, but I think the future Mrs. Niese has a distressingly bland taste for blah colors. Smokey browns and flat ashy blacks. Where's the blue and orange, Leah?! They gave your man a long-term contract before his time! http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/regGiftRegistry.asp?wrn=-2092473564&
  20. Gotta get an early drop on the season in order to be ready for spring training. Lotta wheeling and dealing to come, but this is what we've got so far. Any help would be appreciated.
  21. Howard Johnson ?@20Hojo RIP Pasqual Perez...only pitcher I ever knew that could try to pick you off 1st by throwing BEHIND his back from the rubber...tru character
  22. This article makes a passing reference to Ginsberg apparently converting from J to C.
  23. Surprised he only played two games. Never got to first base as a Met. Also surprised to see services for Myron Ginsberg taking place at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home and overseen by Pastor Glen Pettigrove. Always filed him among Jewish Mets in my mental assumption drawers. Had a nice career before fizzing out with the Mets --- sort of a lefthanded American League version of Wes Westrum --- a mostly part-time catcher who couldn't hit much but could always work a walk. Faretheewell, Joe Ginsberg.
  24. Which makes me wonder: to what extent did the having the Astros to beat up on help the Cards in the Wild Card race? Being a six team division has certainly been a disadvantage (particularly relative to the AL West) with regards to title hopes, but having the two worst teams in the league to beat up on for 32 games had to provide some consolation while pursuing the consolation prize.
  25. Anybody who used news of the Yankees donation of hurricane relief to log on to Twitter and joke about the Mets having no money or donating Jason Bay, you stink.
