  1. Dear Baseball, Beards are less fun when everybody has one. Sincerely, Everybody
  2. Well, he's got six steals already. He's gonna run.

  5. Funky to see Byrd get to that and Valdespin pull up.
  6. Rice seems to have a slider working tonight.
  7. Is "Ruben" Spanish for "Three-and-two"?
  8. Wow. Everything different, but effectively a sacrifice.
  9. This is a great situation here. Great chance for Lagares up against the lefty. He certainly may end up bunting though.
  10. Strange. The catcher seemed to be setting up away with Ike, but Lilly got him inside on the last two. He's getting everybody inside.
  11. This is some really bad publicity for Verizon here.
  12. So much for those special phones installed in every ballpark. Hey, Mattingly.... "KEITH IS BET-TER! KEITH IS BET-TER!"
  13. I hate those outfield porches pushing right up against the foul line. A grounder over the bag and past the firstbaseman shoudl be a double by all rights. Good job by Terry letting him swing against the drawn-in infield.
  14. He even hits angry. (How'd Zvon have THAT one ready?)
  15. That's a weird-ass curve he's got tonight. And it's almost unfair to throw it to pitchers.
  16. I don't see Byrd entering June as a first stringer.
  17. Lilly's right around the plate here but getting no calls.
  18. Dumb questions I should know the answer to: 1) Where did those memorials end up? 2) How does Eddie Grant warrant a memorial decades before he wrote "Police On My Back"?
  19. Man, Ian Bladergroen. Did that guy wreck the joint in Capital City or what? Seventy four ribeyes in a short season league (72 games!). That's some baseball. Gets traded for Doug Mientkiewicz in a deal that drove headline editors crazy, and they both end up being fool's gold at their respective levels.
  20. If he doesn't cut back on the pancakes, some kid may soon be saying that about Matt.
  21. It's the Curse of Laffey.
