  1. Man, Young positions himself somewhere around 127th Street, doesn't he?
  2. Fatalism's for other fans.. I feel like the sixth inning was the real lost opportunity. I kind of wanted Terry to try to bunt home Satin with Lagares.I hate playing for one run, but it was only the sixth and I hate more coming away from there without a run, and two big whiffers coming up suggested that we were going to. What's with the Yarnell jersey?
  3. Can't get the ball past a Montero.

Meet Lou DePaoli, the Mets new (and first-ever) chief revenue officer.
  8. Humping or dumping? You make the call.
  9. Arizona managers with as many wins as losses Bob Brenley, 303-262 Kirk Gibson, 251-237 Buck Showalter, 250-236 Wally Backman, 0-0
  10. When Cy Young Award voting gets tabulated, we will look back on this series, and the support the team gave Harvey and the painful drubbing they gave Corbin.
  11. Nice job with Lemanczyk, who I managed against in Pee-Wees when I was a teenager.
  12. No more plays on the word "rubber." I'm not inclined toward superstition, but it's cursed, it's bad luck, bad juju, bad kharma, a bad omen, a harbinger of doom. It's bedevlied, snake-bit, and star-crossed. It's ill-fated, foredoomed, and blighted. It leaves the game ill-augered and poorly portented. I CAN'T SAY THIS ENOUGH. Though I'm not inclined toward superstition.
  13. This is my friend Park Slope Dave, apparently still of the stubborn belief that good music needs good cover art. Identifying Dave's fellow players here, over at 10:00, we have Steve Carlton, the next one clockwise (Tigers #19) is a mystery, Tom Seaver, Hank Aaron, Hank Aaron again, And what I can only guess is Bill Buckner with an N missing from his name. Is that like a famous Topps screwup?
  14. So, the Mets have already passed both the Cubs and the Brewers this weekend, and sit two games behind the Dodgers in the most glorious game of leapfrog known to man. The Dodgers have a late game on the coast against Philadelphia. We'll get a half game closer to somebody.
  15. You know, as a remaining fan, I'm cool with Harvey coming in in the third. Or the fifth. The seventh would be kinda cool.
  16. Carlos Torres --- not to be mes'd with.
  17. Wright can play dee too.
  18. National defense giveth. National defense taketh away.
  19. Pour it on, Daytime Mets. (One of these teams hasn't heard about the greenie ban.)
  20. Stammen --- you argue about where you hit a batter, you got no class.
  21. I'm playing a computer game while listening. Robot Daniel Murphy hit a homer at the same time Human Daniel Murphy hit a triple.
  22. The courage of Tim Teufel on display. Down with Span!
  23. Eric Young --- foul ball machine.
  24. I'm a fan of my Big Brown Bear, but how are they gong to get three innings out of this pen?
  25. Q- POWER! Now you can bunt Gee and everything.
