  1. If those games were for the Mets, he'd be 15th all-time on the team's win list. Don't know if he has a second act. Likely not. Does hie have a knuckler?
  2. This should do wonders for gyro sales at Citi Field. Yeah, the Mets are always a potential landing point for a veteran of a huge contract that has gone bad. And if he's just around for 4-6 weeks while other stuff falls into place. Coolio. He's the nu Rick Ankiel. Hey, I wonder if they considered Rick Ankiel?
  3. Not for nothing, but that makes two Braves in recent weeks whose seasons have been gruesomely ended --- and remaining careers put at risk --- by the Mets. Running away with the division, but going into the post-season without Hudson and with Heyward a question mark has got to stick in their craws a little.
  4. Yeah, if it's only about maintaining their commitment to innings limits, well, he'll be more interesting than Schwinden.
  5. Yeah, it's pretty hypnotic. Look at those shoes, man. She beat Serena in those shoes.
  6. Vegas beat Fresno, 8-7 last night, after being down 7-0. Not bad, Backmans.
  7. I'd to something to de-onepiece-ify her hair, but they may be on to something, rolling her out on her own the way they are.
  8. Shared record, in fact. T1. Unser: 13 in 1975 T1. Beltran: 13 in 2006 T3. Mazzilli: 12 in 1979 T3. Wilson: 12 in 1982 5. Laggy: 11 in 2013
  9. Can the pennant be that far off?
  10. Mets sorta robbed themselves by only scoring only one run. I think the key to the game, more than the failed hit and run, was Laggy failing to tag on Murphy's flyout to Terdoslavich.
  11. I'm afraid Lagares is gonna get the payback pitch.
  12. And Niese gets seeming rattled, and the two-out, two-strike HbP turns out to be the tying run.
  13. Jason Heyward takes it on the helmet. Not good, considering how far off the plate he stands.
  14. Felix Millan turns 70 today. Stearns is 62.
  15. Rosenberg and Lewinsky are filling the booth with Jewish inside jokes and laughing themselves silly. "I'll say it again. You don't get material like this with John and Susan."
  16. SATINBOMB! 15 rows back. Mets up 1-0.
  17. Assists by NL Centerfielders in 2013 1. Lagares (NYM): 11 2. McCutchen (PIT): 9 3. Pollock (ARI): 7 T4. Revere (PHI): 6 T4. Choo (CIN): 6
  18. Nobody tracking this? Scoreless tie in the fourth. Niese was untouched until just now when Andrelton Simmons singled and Lagares pegged him going for two.
  19. Every time I see you falling I get down on my Niese and pray!
  20. Yeah, an offer of arbitration is an offer. Accepting that offer is an agreement. That's certainly my understanding.
  21. Hopefully LaTroy Hawkins didn't waste his best pitches throwing at David Wright and Guys during the interview.
  22. He looked angry at that ball.
  23. It's a good night for no doubters.
  24. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Oh, I like the guy plenty, and enjoy when he does well. It's just that... that's not that often, historically. Well, he hasn't exactly broken my heart by not performing for Colorado. History, shmistory. Collin McHugh so far for Colorady? Five innings pitched and a 10.80 ERA.
  25. Much maligned Eric Young playing at some normal depth on that last out.
