  1. Considering that Ray was the answer to last night's trivia question and it seemingly stumped the entire booth until Gary came in at the end with a Sadecki guess that he had no faith in. All hail Sadecki. Something should be named after him. Everybody with more than 600 innings should have some eternal honor.
  2. Poor Ruben. Brown did the right thing by sliding there but his leg inexplcably came up high like he was breaking up a double play. Tejada's leg hooked it and it was a classic trip. We're going to have to call up Hicks or Bixler or Sandoval or somebody (has Valdespin finished his sentence?) to finish the season. Fun fact, the Mets have had Russ Adams on their AAA roster, listing him as "Restricted" seemingly since like halfway through 2011 in Buffalo, according their website.
  3. The obsession is another matter.
  4. I hope John Satin has many great years ahead with the Nets.
  5. I was thinking Wheeler. Keith is sort of black 'n' white, in his reasoning, and hated den Dekker stealing. I thought there was a case. A sliver of gray if you will. Basic Defensible Case 1) If they're going to give it to you, take it. Strategic Basic Defensible Case 2) Stealing second keeps you out of the double play. Half-Thought Out, Not Particularly Strong Case That in the End Turned Out to Nonetheless Be a Key 3) The eighth ain't the ninth. It's defensible to go for one there and get the rest the next inning. Ill-Reasoned Case, That Probably Is More Relevant Than Any of the Above 4) Stealing is part of den Dekker's game, and he's trying to show what he can do, inning and score be damned.
  6. Man, I missed that whole thing and had to follow it through GameDay. But a four-run ninth inning rally pulled off entirely by guys who spent some or most of the year at Las Vegas. That's some sweet cake. Happy anniversary, Gary.

  8. Crispy crap. Two out. This would be a good spot for Nieuwenhuis.
  9. My reception is failing.
  10. [bigpurple:3vl2f2qd]VAMOS![/bigpurple:3vl2f2qd]
  11. Two walks. That'll do nicely.
  12. I hear ya. I don't know why it hit me that way. He just hasn't seemed to be part of the narrative during the last week. Brown, time to make a positive mark on this game.
  13. Terry out to look at his player and I'm half surprised that he's still the manager.
  14. Sadecki barely qualified by coming back with three innings in 1977.
  15. Ha, I stumped the booth. They just came up with Sadecki and threw him aside. I knows my Sadecki.
  16. Well, Torres is throwing nicely.
  17. Photo by Gordon Donovan.
  18. Brownie having a terrible game.
  19. Matt Harvey ?@MattHarvey33 7m Been an exhausting couple of days. Apologies to @DanPatrick and @Qualcomm Matt Harvey ?@MattHarvey33 7m Ive had a few rough outings on the mound, that was a rough outing on the radio this morning...
  20. That didn't just happen. Beeriest week in a month and a half.

Maybe that is part of the problem here, he likely now has "handlers", you know what Matt, be like fucking Jeter, do stupid car commercials, don't talk to the media in this way, only after games....be vanilla. Fuck Jeter. Be like Wright. Do ads in uniform for greasy faith healers that liberate you from drinking feces the rest of your life.
  22. This is the downside of the Buck-and-Byrdie trade. We suddenly have a paucity of play-the-game-the-right-way cops.
  23. He seems to be gravitating toward the royal We.
