It's not my place to put up this thread, but it hasn't gone up yet, and it oughta, because the Mets just dropped and 8-ball on the Marlins in the second inning. Mat Latos on the mound and the Mets hit it all over the place. Homer (yawn, again) for Cuddyer, tripboom for Muno. Two-run single for Tejada, who is hitting .324.

Loy Records. Wow. Almost has the air of Wag the Dog, and how they created an old record and dropped it into the historical record and had everybody believing it was a hit back in the day and we all sort of remembered it.

Encountering lot of cyberhate for this decision.

The thing about deJean was that he was doing terribly in Baltimore, and the Mets got him in a desperate swap for Karim Garcia. He gave them 20 good innings, and that was great, but they made him the number two guy in the bullpen the next season without much alternative. There was a lot of pain before they ended up deciding to make a reliever out of Heilman. Non-pin guys Heilman and Roberto Hernandez did their best to shore things up. But bullpens are always in flux, and I guess they did alright, from the right side anyhow.

I'm totally wearing my Mike DeJean pin to work tomorrow. If that doesn't get me a key to the executive washroom, I don't know what will.

Did nobody have the funk when Willie asked them to bring the funk?

Wait, that's like a real thing?

Shmay-Rod.

If that x-ray shows any fractures, the trainer is going to look pretty bad, because Wilmer stayed in the game and put pressure on that foot trying to leg out an infield hit.

The mlb.com account says he threw 20 pitches, 11 of which landed for strikes. It also says he gave up two hits, which makes more sense. Unless she was using Roman numerals.

Yeah what a double play. Gilly served it up for Tushera but Wright turned his rip into two outs, and Sean escapes with a scoreless inning..

Gilmartin gets rattled when he sees Duane Below warming and he walks the Headcheese.

Chunky seven-year-old behind the plate rocking an Ed Kranepool shirt. You go, kid. You be you.

Gilmartin just got Drew's butt flying out and he may have this team made if he chases Headley here.

I'll give you the pbp. Harvey gets a quick two outs, and Terry comes out and pulls him not because he's hit his pitch count, according to RJ, but because the Mets need to get a look at some other pitchers. Mercy comes for the Yankees. And now A BLIMP IS CRASHING! A GREAT ZEPPELIN. OH, ZVON, YOU'RE MISSING IT!!!

Five innings and 56 pitches for MH. How many do you think they have him penciled in for?

Two days, and three starting pitchers get sent down, pretty much guaranteeing that Gee has the fifth spot lined up, and Montero is the insurance policy. Good for him for hanging on to the next-in-line status at least for the rest of spring training. That ball sounded gone. Nice to see that set up by Gregorius coming up empty on Lagares' grounder.

I'm not ready to believe it's going to break that way until it breaks that way.

Jamie Moyer.

Funny how I've looked at that album cover a thousand times and never noticed that. I do however recall being surprised by this scene back in 1972.
