  1. That's some big-league beltwearin'.
  2. We'll finally have a name to rhyme with Sadecki.
  3. No way. Hey, it sucks that Edgin went pop, but the thing about left-handed specialists is they're not that rare or precious a commodity. And yeah, I'd say no more top shelf than an experienced, seasoned, slugging, sexy backup catcher. I mean look at the dusty parts they got the job done with in recent seasons: Feliciano, on his fifth tour of duty, dialing his fastball up to 84 when things got really tight; Byrdak, who was scratching for just enough time served to get a lifetime pass; Rice, a 33-year-old rookie on his sixth organization, not counting his tours with indy teams and such. Maybe Sandy doesn't successfully fill that job this year. He may totally screw it up. But I don't think it's unrealistic that the price on whomever they find (if indeed they look to the trade market) won't be much more than a backup catcher who looks great in diffused light.
  4. Recker may end up being dangled for the elusive bullpen lefty.
  5. I have to say that his usefulness as a second lefty off the bench is as good an argument for him over Recker as I've heard.
  6. First year of Junior high was a 10-month nightmare. You don't navigate that so much as a grab onto a floatation device and surrender.
  7. Matt Bowman writing his own ticket to Las Vegas. Or Binghamton
  8. That's what you get for letting Dykstra rot on the vine, Mets.
  9. Castellanos just saved Leatherstitch from a 370-footer. Jack, don't get your teammates hurt.
  10. Flores 2-3 with a double. He can field like Jeter if he keeps hitting like this. Rays broadcaster talking excitedly about the remote broadcast of their show they're planning on doing at Hooter's.
  11. Sure, I may not be the most talked-about prospect in camp, but I'm... oh wait... I AM the most talked about prospect in camp. I'm tall, strapping, I got three plus pitches and maybe a fourth on the way, and I got a girl who's pretty AND kinda crazy. Plus, I've got two consecutive a's in my last name. And that, as they say, is badass. What don't I have? In a phrase, table manners. And that, and everything it represents, may or may not be indicative of why I haven't yet debuted. I don't know. But 2015 looks like a launch year for me. What do you see?
  12. Then it will truly be Satter-nalia!
  13. Wheeler went for the MRI after all. Clean as heck, according to Terry. That boy is going to start glowing in the dark.
  14. Sam Freeman effective pitcher, but no track record as a lefty specialist. Checking his stats, he's got a reverse platoon split. Xavier Cedeo not as much MLB experience, but the splits are there, with a strong athletic frame.
  15. Frayed Knot wrote: This game has already featured a Tyler Pill and a Taylor Hill (not to mention a Rich Hill). I predict that by the middle of the 2016 season 30% of the league will be named either Tyler or Taylor (or Jordan). The Nats got a jump on everyone when they had a Taylor Jordan pitch for them last year. I hear now that they're actively looking for a hurler named Jordan Taylor - preferably a lefty who they can match-up with Taylor Jordan. We also got through a game against the Nats with out a Tyler Moore appearance. I have no doubt the Braves will dress a player named Taylor Tyler Jordan this year or next. His brother Cody is a year or two behind.
  16. I like how the over-performing and over-primped Hoots now look as alien as the Jim Baker crowd.
  17. [fimg=480]http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/mayberry/images/b/bb/ScreenShot097.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20110212165116[/fimg] Mayberry OMG.
  18. Check out Jay Horwitz, over there macking with Alexa.
  19. Ka'aiihue GiDPs, but he totally hung in there as Rice tried to work him inside. The GiDP itself was more of a soft line drive. He gets a scoreless inning, and maybe moves a notch up toward getting the job, but I be less than impressed.
  20. Tony Gwynn, Jr. drives one right through the box on Vanilla Rice. Not the lefty-on-lefty outcome I'm looking for.
  21. d'Kong76 wrote: Alexa turns these guys on their heels... love it! "So, you got married in the offseason. Congratulations... you guys happy?" Go for the gold, Alexa. Challenge Matt den Dekker to air his dirty newlywed marital laundry on television. Get that big story.
  22. The Mets have a chance to be a tough assignment against lefties.
  23. Just a single, but it's just as nice to see Duda get his first lixx in.
