  1. Wilmer smothering the hot one like classic Glenn Hubbard. Man, those last two swings were pathetique.
  2. Still have to put a cherry on this one.
  3. But he brings the Braves to a stop.
  4. The booth is right. Buddy's not coming to a stop.
  5. Everybody's got to pull his weight, but no way I turn this game over to Gilmartin.
  6. Murphy looks awful. As unselective as he generally is, when he's pressing, he'll swing at anything.
  7. Wilmer Flores, slugging like an All-Star.
  8. Let's get that run back, you Mets.

  10. That's some slop that McFly is throwing.
  11. Black is black I want my pitcher back It's a possibility, but on the other hand, they haven't diagnosed anything calamitous, and they have every reason to not push him.
  12. Breaking: Matt Harvey has been pitching through a "foot issue." Off for an examination.
  13. Forty-five years ago... this happened. [fimg=850]http://www.ultimatemets.com/scorecard_graph.php?game=1319&font=1[/fimg] [fimg=600]http://metsmerizedonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/IMG_0004.jpg?6c20df[/fimg]
  14. I'm going to guess he'll be 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA through his first three starts.
  15. Suddenly, Duda is the left-handed batter we can count on most against lefties.
  16. Gee's 48 consecutive starts of at least five innings is the longest active such streak in the Majors and two away from tying Doc Gooden's club record Can't be all uh-oh. Of course, seeing as he's gone exactly 5 and 5 2/3 innings in his two starts so far this season... . Still they've won nine in a row, I'm high as a kite, and I'm committed to seeing the positive. As long as he doesn't grow that merkin again.
  17. That's a well written article, and I like that he did all that digging, but it sort of wanders around searching for a thesis.

  19. The Marlins have twice in their young history seen dramatic fire sale rebuilds turn quicker-than-expected dividends for them, so it would be kind of darkly nice to see this recent one completely blow up in their faces. Loria has met with Redmond and then the press and presented himself as non-commital with regard to his manager's status. It's only gracious to allow your employees under contract to talk with other teams who are interested in giving them an opportunity to manage, but still, we're talking about a potential mid-season change on a division rival. That may change things. And who knows? Maybe if Bobby Valentine doesn't jump ship in 1985, the Mets pull out the division.
  20. I like to think that a formidable rival like the Nats will be the cauldron of fire in which the steel of the Mets is tempered. You'd hate to get soft beating up on the Braves and Phils and then run into a buzz saw during a West Coast trip.
  21. Frayed Knot wrote: "He knows he's good" -- Dillon Gee (about Plawecki) Several ways to interpret that statement. Mo'nique know she look good!
  22. Lefty Specialist wrote: It's amazing how many times in the past few years they've teased us with a good first half. That's why I keep wondering when this particular dirigible will approach the mooring mast. Live in the moment. This is a pretty great moment. It's pretty terrific to symbolically reset the clock to No-Hitter Weekend, as so many things have gone wrong since then. Resetting the clock to before the 2006 playoffs would be aces.
