  1. Bunt against this big guy.
  2. Consistently effective pitching, timely hitting, and the glove of their center fielder. Not so much by infield defense.
  3. Walk to Muffkowsky and the Yankees go to the pen.
  4. Sorta six outs the Yankees are getting, actually since the Mets only got one out from two double-play balls.
  5. DEFENSE!! Give 'em five outs, Mets. That's the strategy.
  6. Orange on black works. Royal blue on black not at all.
  7. Two-zip. Gloves have kept it from being 4-0. Would be nice to get Murphy in on this.
  8. Defense saving Eovaldi twice in a row.
  9. Oh, man, the thing about a cold Sunday night is that if the Mets can get ahead early, the Yankee fans will all bail early.
  10. Mets signed Brooks Conrad journeyman infielder known for clutch hitting and anti-clutch fielding to a minor league contract yesterday. Did not arrive in Vegas in time for their 10-4 beatdown of Albuquerque today, but things had been getting light in the 51s' infield department. They had been down to four infielders since the Muno and Reynolds promotions, with Alex Castellanos serving as a fifth. Two keys to enjoying Brooks Conrad's presence in your organization: (1) don't call him Brooks Kieschnick (he hates that) and (2) don't remind him of his three errors in game three of the 2010 NLCS. He kinda really hates that.
  11. Curious why they wouldn't start him at segundo and let Murph concentrate on hittin'.
  12. Very sweet play by Freddy Galvis.
  13. Adam Wainwright also dreads seeing this thread pop up, as he hits the DL with an achilles injury trying trying to explode out of the batter's box.
  14. TexXxas has activated Wandy Rodriguez and, to make room for him, DFA'd Logan Verrett. Maybe the Mets get him back. Maybe he ends up back on Baltimore. I'm thinking he ends up taking a brief trip through KC or Chicago to replace one of the suspenderinos.
  15. His start is no worse than Granderson's last year. They know well enough to know whether he's close to executing effectively or he's lost.
  16. Gwreck wrote: Props to Yankee Stadium security for quickly responding to some d-bag fans in my section. I am a big fan of the text-message narc line at the ballparks. Dropped a dime on them, including their exact seat location and wouldn't you know it, security was there in less than 3 minutes, gave them a stern warning and marked their tickets that any future misbehavior would result in an ejection. George runs a tight ship!
  17. Sunday night baseball in April in the Northeast. Not a pretty thought.
  18. I don't think Collins thinks much of Campbell as a second baseman, and has suggested that he's only an emergency option there. I'd probably put him there in a minute I mean, Flores is at short, so... but in 655 games in the minors, Campbell's only appeared at second 15 times and shortstop twice, so apparently his minor league managers have agreed with Terry.
  19. [fimg=550:3k20thhr]http://cdn.riveraveblues.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Joe-Girardi.jpg?1051d9[/fimg:3k20thhr]
  20. Harvey would've finished if he had a better hat.
  21. Amazin' to see all them Met fans in the moat.
  22. No Tejaddy. Thank Terry with a couple of hits, Murphy.
  23. Important day for Mayberry and Campbell. Will be interesting to see if Terry continues to send Tejada out there against zurdos.
  24. Lousy loss aside, entering with two on and none out, giving up an infield single to Alex Rodriguez, before getting Mark Teixeira on a foul pop out and whiffing Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran is... a pretty sweet way to debut.
