  1. Another nothing hit. Another flatuent brain.
  2. I'm trying to think if it would've been different under the old rules. I don't really conclude that it would've.
  3. Please get up.
  4. All the posts from this thread are now in the IGT. I'm not sure why this thread still exists. Somehow you must've posted in it just as it was being merged.
  5. Shift turns a routine grounder into a double.
  6. The Tiggs have been a disappointment.
  7. PINOY POWA!!
  8. Wow. Curtis out to center on a humid night. Their pitcher looks as goopy as ours. I wonder if lex Torres has a Royal Giants-insignia soft helmet band.
  9. Man. Bullshit runs. Make 'em hit something hard, Mets.
  10. Defense, Mets. Oh, and offense.
  11. Goofy, Laggy. Goofy.
  12. Agreed on the run, but the box score says otherwise. Glad to see Keith get on the Mets for staring at too many pitches with two outs.
  13. Should that second run be earned?
  14. The batter interfered with the catcher. If his bat didn't hit d'Arnaud, he might've thrown the ball into centerfield faster.
  15. How do you pitch to a guy with a stance like this? He looks both terrified and terrifying. Here's the dark uniform they're wearing tonight.
  16. Princess Diana sitting behind home plate tonight.
  17. Happened in a Mets game three or four years back. A batter, possibly Duda, but I believe it was an opponent, got hit but didn't get first base based on him not trying to make a sporting attempt to elude the pitch.
  18. Triples by 37-year-old catchers are rare.
  19. I got a shortstop, Ruby is his name He don't hit much, but I cheer his Metly name Ruby, Ruby, pick your knees up Try and get your OBPs up Ruby, Ruby, help the Flushing nine.
  20. Dan Haren's Twitter handle: @ithrow88
  21. Nelson Doubleday in late 1985 in the heat of a pennant race: "Well, we're always looking toward next year."
  22. Edgy MD wrote: The only Met hitter who has faced Wisler is Kevin Plawecki, who went 1-3, so maybe he draws the start tonight instead of the middle game. Bam! Edgy MD wrote: Wisler's mother is expected to be in attendance. I think the mic's broken.
  23. At last report, the leading vote-gobblers in the American League All Star campaign were: C: Perez, S | KC 1B: Hosmer, E | KC 2B: Infante, O | KC 3B: Moustakas, M | KC SS: Escobar, A | KC OF: Cain, L | KC OF: Trout, M | AN OF: Gordon, A | KC DH: Morales, K | KC MLB has reasonably detected that there's been some hyjinx perhaps extending beyond the typical Wild West farce that we've come to expect, and thrown out up to 60 trillion votes, or something. So there will be a new ranking at next report, or maybe not. Of course, MLB deliberately set up a system to encourage abuse (generate interest, Edgy, generate interest!) and then tried to give it credibility by making the outcome of the game have an impact on the eventual MLB championship. These two values are obviously at odds with each other so now MLB is in the painful position of trying to determine which votes are sincere and credible, and which are meant to undermine the system. Vote a thousand times! But no punk voting, Johnny!
  24. In strangely inappropriate times, I find myself recalling the line, "So... Hermione just stole all our shit..." and laughing out loud.
  25. The Braves are dancing around the fringes of the race, with talk of sneaking in, and I think it's high time they got a taste of a first-place team smacking 'em back down. First up: The Braves #2-ranked prospect (by somebody, I dunno) and #59 overall (same) Matt Wisler debuts against defending Rookie of the Year and Men's Hair Care Monthly cover boy Jacob deGrom. deGrom is hotter than whatever right now, and among the teams he's been dominating were these same damn Braves the last week. The only Met hitter who has faced Wisler is Kevin Plawecki, who went 1-3, so maybe he draws the start tonight instead of the middle game. Wisler's mother is expected to be in attendance.
