  2. The funny thing is that they haven't called up an outfielder all season. Bumps and bruises though there have been many, the only Mets outfielder that has hit the disabled list has been Lagares, and the Mets replaced him with an infielder in the person of Ty Kelly, and subsequently replaced Kelly with a pitcher.
  3. I think typical time for that sort of injury is six-eight weeks, so I would guess we'll look for him around the time of the trade deadline.
  4. Wow. Of all the dudes out there.
  5. Yeah, a policy arrived at while doing everything wrong while not really caring if you did anything right, but only trying to appear to care — a policy that I still assume is cover and will be diverged from as soon as the league suspects it's in her interests — ain't my idea of a model.
  6. Royals pitcher Lary Sorensen wasn't named Lawrence. His actual name is just "Lary" named in honor of then-future Met Frank Lary. Sorensen was born in Detroit in the mid-fifties, when Lary was a hot young pitcher.
  7. Cspedes really impressed me with a checked swing that at bat. How does he stop such a powerful cut with a sore wrist?

  9. That inning was highly turdy.

This one I don't mind stuck in my head. Listen to that guitar! "Loney is the night" da-deh-na "when you find yourself aloooooone." He's sure found the stroke this evening.
  11. Don't be intentionally walking Conforto to pitch to d'Arnaud. You'll pay for that.
  12. Pitching outclassing the hitters seems to be the story throughout the organization.
  13. Curtis Granderson, rf Asdrubal Cabrera, ss Yoenis Cspedes, cf Neil Walker, 2b Loney is the Knight 1b Wilmer Flores 3b Michael Conforto, lf Travis d'Arnaud, c Stephen Matz, sp

  16. And just like that, P.J. is promoted to St. Lucie. My investment is paying off IMMEDIATELY!

But the 'I can't tell' response is exactly why it shouldn't be overturned. No need to get all Thomas Paine-y on me. I'm aware of the rule. The guess that it was going to get overturned was logical because since the introduction of replay it seems that too many folks weren't aware of the 'clear and convincing' evidence part of the equation. Yeah, they're the worst.

  20. Well, that settles that. Conforto for MVP.

  22. A strangely high-leverage situation to be calling on Gilmartin.
  23. I GOT A BUBBLE-BUTT BASTARDO, GOT A BUBBLEY BUTT! I DIDN'T PITCH HIM LAST NIGHT, DO YOU THINK I'M A NUT?! GOT A TWO-YEAR DEAL SO HE WON'T GET CUT! SEE MY DIRTY LAUNDRY!
