  1. Freakin' Verrett is the pitcher of record.
  2. So this is where Broxton ended up. Not quite as massive as he was as a Dodger. More like an offensive guard and not so much the defensive nose tackle that he was with LA.
  3. Amazing thing is that Terry made a point of saying that the team needs Cspedes to carry them. With all that heat on him, he comes through like that.
  4. Let's cut Familia some slack and get him another run or nine.
  5. Got some animated dudes getting up behind home plate. Good fans.
  6. "The at-bat of the year for the New York Mets." Gary Cohen
  7. Baseball, gentlemen. Baseball.
  8. OK, I'll take that. Hard to believe that's his first wild pitch of the season. Good to have a Molina back there.
  9. Flailing at the curve. Garbajelski. Let's go, Yo.
  10. I'd send De Aza. Nothing but curves are coming.
  11. Just not Grandy. Wainwright seems to be grinding. Good pitch followed by bad pitch.
  12. Cool by De Aza, but we'd have a run home if d'Arnaud was running there. Shouldn't he have been running?
  13. Leadoff dude on. That's supposed to help, right?
  14. Nice to see that Wainwright curve miss.
  15. Paperback from 1979 but appears to feature Yogi Berra in his Mets kit, getting piggybacked by Lucy Van Pelt, and apparently about to get his ass bitten some hybrid of Milton Berle and Iron Eyes Cody.
  16. Thanks for nothing, Indians.
  17. I like how the arithmetical title of the thread suggests that beyond Reyes having an injury, Reyes is an injury.
  18. Thanks for nothing, Phillies.
  19. Yeah, and as much as a more dynamic offense might have dug the Mets out of Game One yesterday, the most dynamic player they have is out of the lineup. I'm trying to tell myself that any minute now, one of d'Arnaud, Flores, Lagares, or Conforto is going to wake up just a little bit more matured, and turn the game into his plaything. All of them, actually, I'm hoping.
  20. Mets need a hero tonight.
  21. And both leading early.
  22. I guess two player revolts in a year over what should be housekeeping issues looks bad for Robin, but maybe Sale's just a jerk. I think that's why they make pitchers run on their days off. Otherwise, they just spend four restless days imagining they know more than everybody.
  23. It's just a freakin' shirt, dude.
  24. Anybody watching the replay, watch out for a skinny young bearded guy with a blue shirt behind the plate in the ninth. Lemme know if he appears any time sooner. He was rockin' it.
