    Former Mets who wear the purple. The Rockies sometimes seem like an island unto themselves, not only avoiding journeymen who've passed through Queens, but hiring from within on their coaching and development staffs, rather than adding baseball lifers cycling through on horizontal career paths. First base/outfield coach Eric Young is the father of two-time ex-Met Eric Young, Jr. That's all I've got, from the roster, the coaches, the minor league coaches, the announcers, the front office and everybody. That's an incredible paucity of Mets DNA.

    Going to Blevins to face Gonzalez is fine, but that leaves us with only Bastardo if they want to go to a lefty to face Dahl in the ninth. Unless you want to let Blevins go after Story in between.

    He looked like a distinctly compromised individual last night. A healthy and nimble leftfielder might have caught that foul pop in the ninth and the Mets might have emerged victorious.
