Erik Goeddel went down yesterday with the recall of Gilmartin. There seems to be some kind of law of conservation that won't allow two Goeddels to appear in one series. But Altherr and Goeddel certainly make for a pretty Teutonic platoon. It's interesting that LA continues to be the place old Phillies go to die. It seemed like just yesterday it was the final stop for old Red Sox. Justin Turner has really turned (NPI) his season around since we last saw this team, and he's not got a stat line in step with his last two seasons and has really turned on the powa. Strange how Murphy and Turner were once a meh platoon for the Mets and now they're each swinging thundersticks and terrorizing the league.

That's a great catch, no pun intended. Now, if you can find me Mike Barwis' DoB, I might have to give you a lifetime membership to Shake Shack.

Juggling relief pitchers in and out. The funny thing is that a lot of their roster spots are dedicated to starting pitchers, so guys like Gilly have to unpack their bags and be ready to warm up on the spot after starting for weeks or months in Vegas. Lugo's got to get with the program, hair-wise. Conforto went 4-7 with a homer yesterday as the Mets split a doubleheader with the Salt Lake Bees. They took Tim Lincecum for 8 runs, 5 earned, in 4.0 innings.

Well, they went all-hands last September, carrying 37 guys for much of the month and even going as high as 38 at one point, when they usually top out at 30 or 31. I was proud of them, and I expect something similar this year, even if half of all Met-loving twitter users will threaten to throw themselves from the Throg's Neck if Eric Campbell returns.

Way to mail it in and place both sets of pitchers against the same horizon.

Stop fucking around start De Aza over Bruce!

I had my nose to the grindstone at work today, so I didn't put up the transaction, but he was swapped in for Goeddel this afternoon.

The Triumverate of Chrome is still sitting back there.

Man, O man, Reyes has a pair o' hands.

We have a save situation.

Get Cspedes out of there. If there's any reason to use late-inning defensive replacements, he's it.

Brandon Moss thinks he's Randall Grichuk.

Bases loaded and one out, I think Cabrera's the guy I trust the most.

I'm also not above putting him at first and telling him to make believe he knows what he's doing. Loney is steady, but I think we have more than a good idea what his ceiling is and it's not high enough.

Oh, God bless the team with sketchier defense than the Mets.
