T-minus-5 games on the Familia relaunch.

John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Cespedes looked absolutely gassed in his final PA last night. It was like the bat was too heavy for him. Right? Didn't slide given multiple opportunities, and gave up on a foul ball or two in the only remaining park in the division that has room in the outfield to pursue a foul ball. Dude may be hot, but he needs a blow, so you might as well give it to him in a game that's going to be all righthanders.

Growing pains. It'll get better or it won't. Fifth starters sometimes need patience.

That K, though. Wow. THREE PITCHES!

Las Vegas got raked for 12 runs last night but neither Gilmartin nor Goeddel pitched, so maybe they're on a plane this morning and T.J. and Gsellie get a minor league vacation.

Noah takes on Edinson Volquez. Two depleted bullpens. Mets got to Volquez for five runs, four earned, last week, and didn't even use their Volquez killer Curtis Granderson. Look for a day off for a couple of guys. d'Arnaud certainly, but maybe Céspedes too(!).

What a win. Robles and Smokestack = heroes.

Zvon wrote: [tweet]https://twitter.com/Ackert_NYDN/status/852740909695356928[/tweet] I'm all for this. Use your starters. There's a game to win here and now. Tomorrow's starter wouldn't be my first choice, but still.

Rivera fields bunts at first ... like a catcher.

Good job by Smokie covering third on that popup.

Yup.

John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Now that's a Smokeshow Let's get him a win.

So, is Check-Out-My-Chest there with Mr. I'm-So-Wacky-I-Wear-My-Visor-Sideways?

I'd rather bunt against the shift.

That popup gives you an idea of how easy the bunt single would be. Use it, guys. Shifts suck.

Maybe T.J. came out of the game because the Mets had knocked out the starter early and the Marlins had no lefties in the pen. So you might as well get as many swings for Duda against righties as possible.

Ozuna going into the slide three feet before reaching the warning track.

I was about to say, do you think she's sending people texts asking if they see her bewbs on TV?

Lagares returning in a reasonably short amount of time is encouraging. They are escaping the calamity of bad circumstances. Get Famila back and it's more or less the roster they were meant to have. Except for Wright I guess. And except for Familia. I guess. Shoulda bunted, Florrie.

OK, let's end this. Not a lot of pitching left.

It's going to be hard to keep Conforto out of the lineup.

I wonder when the last time Céspedes slid was.

Inconclusive.

Did I miss whether we got a report on T.J.?
