Rosario is fast enough to make Arrenado reckless.

And yet, we keep swinging at shit out of the zone.

Dang, this Rockos bullpen.

Come back, Mets. Don't take this thin air nonsense.

Vargie's night is done and done.

Vargas looks like he has to two black eyes.

Big dumb stupid shift.

"Our we ourselves?" is likely what Smith asks himself when he asked to be an outfielder.

Wilmer Flores going the other way is beautiful.

Bad news is that this transaction once again gets the Mets down to three outfielders. Neutral news is that, if Bruce was as unavailable as all that, they've been functionally down to three outfielders the last few days anyhow. Good news is that they have righthander going going tonight, and our two lefthanded outfielder are suddenly hitting, either a little (Conforto) or a lot (Nimmo). So, anyhow, brace yourself, for circumstances may force an appearance by Reyes or Flores or Smith in the 2+-acre outfield of Coors Field. Vargie has a career 11.40 ERA in 15 innings at Coors Field. Get the bullpen loose and score some runs.

Yeah, as that ball hit the glove, I was thinking: "Seven years, $200 million." Probably not a good idea to let a pitch trigger a seven-year extension, but I thought what I thought. You manage your team your way and I'll manage my team my way.

I didn't know there was a Bruce-to-the-DL rumour. Sounds like a job for Ty Kelly, no? Switch-hitter, plays all over the field, is on the 40-man roster, eats shoots and leaves, and is an Irish-named guy who is Jewish enough to play on the Israeli national team. Kelly! It doesn't look like Céspedes is particularly close, so if Bruce is going down, and Bautista being the dirty old man that he is, they may be looking to add somebody from outside the organization. With all the back and core issues — Wright, Flores, Bruce, Céspedes — maybe it's a good time to reconsider their reality show weight trainer.

NIMMBINO? Come on, I could do better than that without out trying. METS ADD BRAN TO THEIR DIET! THE SECRET OF NIMM! OH, YES, WYOMING!

I took the Bruce signing as a move made with the knowledge that Conforto wasn't officially expected until May 1, and with Céspedes history as well, and uncertainly at first, redundancy could be helpful. That doesn't explain the marginalization of Nimmo during the first month however. When all were allegedly healthy, they should have rotated the the bench time around, instead of giving most of it to the Bran. It's part of why I think the team doesn't have a talent shortfall, but a philosophy shortfall. But they've won three straight, they're playing more aggressively, and Nimmo is out there every day, so I'll give it a rest.

Sounds more Midwestern than Big Sky.

Mets pull within a half game of San Diego in the overall standings.
