  1. =MFS62 post_id=24795 time=1571572411 user_id=60] Unless it is either team that left New York, I always root for the National League team. Later
  2. Ian Anderson can also do the national anthem. [FIMG=350]https://s103.podbean.com/pb/782389ed1394bde7575b402854f0af28/5dab7277/data4/fs109/839690/uploads/ian.jpg?pbss=be26013f-f8e1-5c1e-8373-18f2d8bdecb5[/FIMG]
  3. Not Wigs. Good guess. I'd take this moment to lay out the Wigginstats, but my wife says we have to "do something." Sort-of Rookie Seasons is something, Baby!
  4. I think so. I don't think he's distinctly a liability, but perhaps is one relative to McNelt. It's weird. I don't necessarily see superior tools in McNeil — Davis definitely has the stronger wing — but primarily it's those better instincts that make him the preferable choice anywhere. An expansive-minded manager can do a lot with this roster if it's mostly healthy.
  5. That's terrific. I forget that Reggie is from Pennsylvania. He's such a West Coastie. If it's practice-able, can, going forward, can we name the players' 2019 affiliation?
  6. If you're are filling a corner outfield spot with Jeff McNeil and J.D. Davis, which one do you put in the infield, and which in the outfield. McNeil has the better speed, better instincts, and better hands, I think, while Davis has the better arm. They may be equal in foot coordination, but maybe McNeil has an edge in that too. Mickey, when having to put one in the outfield and one in the infield, frequently chose McNeil at third and Davis in a corner spot down the stretch, but I think he was leaning the other way mid-season.
  7. >>> "Brody, can you speak to this idea floating around that this is just another example of you using your position here with the Mets to take care of your former agency's clients?" >>> >>> "That's not what's going on here. You really want to get your ducks in a row before making that sort of insinuation." >>> "OK, Duck One: You recruited him into the agency, and kept him personally as part of your portfolio." >>> >>> "And I did a good job for him. But right now, I'm trying to do a good job for the Mets. They're my only client now." >>> "Duck Two: The guy has a son name 'Brody'." >>> >>> "What do you expect? His name is Skip for God's sake. It's, like, the law or something. I'm sure, sooner or later, I'll have a son named 'Skip.' It just happens, OK?"
  8. Name the Met who owns this sort-of rookie season: [th]G [/th][th]PA [/th][th]AB [/th][th]R [/th][th]H [/th][th]2B [/th][th]3B [/th][th]HR [/th][th]RBI [/th][th]BB [/th][th]IBB [/th][th]SO [/th][th]HBP [/th][th]SH [/th][th]SF [/th][th]GDP [/th][th]SB [/th][th]CS [/th][th]BA [/th][th]OBP [/th][th]SLG [/th][th]OPS[/th]162663587102167247189768513120622107.284.357.441.799
  9. Ending affiliation is where it's at.
  10. I guess it's kind of typical for teams to alternate to some extent, going back and forth between first-time managers and experienced guys.
  11. I like your full coaching staff, including bringing back Joe Morgan, who never had a losing season with the Sox, but hasn't been heard from since 1991. Also, I'm real curious to see what Chris Capuano's got going that makes him want to come out of retirement at 41. I would have guessed that Worcester gave us more players. Has it really been a decade since the great Tanyon Sturtze era?
  12. Did Louie the Lilac empty his Tommy gun into J.D. Davis' guts? Louie was curious in that he and Shame were the only miscreants Batman pursued who actually shot guns at him.
  13. OK, this should be accurate. If it is, I'll replace the two table fails above. What jumps out is all the pounding of the strike zone they were all doing, except Wheeler. I like to think that's Bartolo's influence. It's probably more likely to be Warthen, or somebody they all met in the development pipeline, like Regan or Al Jackson, or Frank Viola. But Wheels was injured for a big chunk of Bartolomania, so I'm thinking it's Colón. 14. Stupid stupid constants and variables. I was only able to suss out the data up to the balk column. So I added those rate columns for Harvey. Once they worked good, I pasted them into the other player's profiles, but they all were divided by Harvey's innings load. I will fixee. It really shouldn't be this hard for me. I think my brain is atrophying.
  15. =41Forever post_id=24668 time=1571358089 user_id=69] I read somewhere that Girardi has already been interviewed. What the story didn't mention was that the interview probably took place in June .....
  16. What did he do to earn that adjective?
  17. Hey, a career .636 winning percentage!
  18. =MFS62 post_id=24641 time=1571339106 user_id=60] The State with the second most current major leaguers is Florida. But I have to admit, I wasn't that familiar with many of the players. Here's my try, with players I have heard about. My graphics skills aren't as elegant as Edgy's, but this team could kick some arse, too.
  19. In short, it turns out that I had a constant in place where I should have had a variable. Apologies. 22. He was the backup centerfielder back then also.
  23. Multiple 2019 Mets from New Jersey: Brad Brach, Todd Frazier, Hector Santiago ... probably somebody I'm forgetting.
  24. Looks like Straw had been the Mets rookie homerun record-holder up to this season after all. Darryl Strawberry, =#FF8000]May 6, 1983—May 5, 1984 [th]G [/th][th]PA [/th][th]AB [/th][th]R [/th][th]H [/th][th]2B [/th][th]3B [/th][th]HR [/th][th]RBI [/th][th]BB [/th][th]IBB [/th][th]SO [/th][th]HBP [/th][th]SH [/th][th]SF [/th][th]GDP [/th][th]SB [/th][th]CS [/th][th]BA [/th][th]OBP [/th][th]SLG [/th][th]OPS[/th]14657350677138227318861131444025258.273.354.528.882 Look at that low HbP total compared to P-Bear and Squirrelly's rookie totals.
  25. When you review a player's game logs on Baseball-Reference, you can scroll to a date and get the player's career statistics up to and including that date. So I go to the day before the first anniversary of the player's promotion, and BOOM! chaka-laka-laka ... It isn't enough just to waste time on the Mets. You've got to COMMIT.
