Jeff Χser, checking in

You should have waited until the Mets had an away game in Choctaw Ridge on 6/3, or at least in Tupelo.

The Rumble Ponies are finally starting to know the taste of victory, having taken four of their last six matchups after opening a woeful 2-17. This small run by our Wilmington Quickstep-esque affiliate has actually dug them out of last place in the AA Northeast Northeast Division of the Department of Redundancy Department, two and a half games ahead of the Reading Phightin' Phils, and only a half game out of fourth. A .240 winning percentage stretches a lot further than it used to. Yes, much of the early season struggling can be attributed in part to the blowing up of the parent club's roster, but the Ponies have had injury troubles of their own, with four starting pitchers on the disabled list. The putative ace left behind has been Tylor Megill, who has nailed down a 3.12 ERA over five starts, striking out an eybrow-raising 42 batters in 26 innings while walking only seven. Such numbers get you promoted, and a day or two ago, that's exactly what happened for Megill, and he now calls himself a Syracusean. [FIMG=450]https://www.gannett-cdn.com/presto/2021/05/22/NETN/0878f821-87e3-4ee1-bd13-d15a60bea1c9-p7seawolves052221.jpg?width=640[/FIMG] You can't do it without relief help these days, and these days, the source of that help has been Arizona-born bullpenner Marcel Renteria. Mac has yet to give up a run in this first seven innings, spanning three appearances. Don't think that's sustainable? His opponent batting average is a .091. [FIMG=450]https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/1148236292637057029/YpYWZ90i.jpg[/FIMG] But somebody's got to hit the ball, and so far infielder Yoel Romero has been doing just that. The power-starved Venezuelan seond-baseman has been lashing opponents with his wet noodle of a bat, producing only four extra-base hits, but a .323 batting average and .417 on-base percentage that you like to see in a tablesetter. What do you want? Eggs in your beer? [FIMG=450]https://cdn.chatsports.com/cache/ec/a9/eca9c0041ed4e3c7a0238f5744238ab5-original.jpg[/FIMG] The long climb up from the bottom continues this evening in New Hampshire, as Josh Walker takes the mound for his second AA start following a successful beginning to his season with the now-high-A Brooklyn Cyclones. For T, you can use RusT Staub. I'm very curious to see how you ultimately monetize this project.

I've long forsworn the NFL. I hat the NFL But that's fucking next-level bullshit. Wow.

Largely disgraced former captain of India's men's field hockey team attempts to make a comeback by coaching the women's team. His ragtag unit goes up against opponents with better funding and support. Let's do that hockey! Dwight was always a two-syllable word for Tim McCarver. I don't think it ever quite made it up to three, but given more time, it might've. Hey, lez count to ten! Tai1 Walker Robin Ven2ra Mark Gu3 Michael Con4to 5 - FUCK! E6 Snead 7 - SHIT! Randy T8 Jeff Co9 Juan Cen10o

OK, then Y - YT Herzog.

They really played down to the level of a bad team the last day and a half. I'm hoping guys coming back and new guys coming in for guys who aren't coming back is keeping them from gelling. Mason will hopefully outhit Maybin and Lee put together but he noticeably isn't covering as much ground as them.

Nah, it's https://www.ispot.tv/ad/O1MB/jim-beam-ginger-highball-break-from-beerthis Jim Beam commercial, where big white guy is embarrassed that his barbecue host isn't initially offering something that'll get him hammered faster than beer will.

I think Frayed Knot's defining old white guy moment came when it described Blastings Thrilledge pursuing a fly ball while wearing a cross "only a little smaller than the True Cross."

The reality kicks in when it becomes a pattern of a certain type of complaint with a certain type of player. I have an old white guy shtick of my own when it came to the crooked hat movement.

A beer? What do I look like? A little girl?

Is it me? Am I going to have be the one to ask that guys dial back the 24-7 spooging over Pillar?

How come we have a better angle today on last night's walkoff hit than we had at the time?

Vargas ties it up with the Mazeika RBI.

Lugo has more ass than I remember.

Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: JOHN FRANCO BOMBSHELL: BASEBALL PLAYER LIKES PLAYING BASEBALL, MAKING HIM A GOOD BALLPLAYER The Mets didn't just sign free agents for the bench. They signed veteran free agents. Nobody had thought of that before.

Watching Ahmed at short is like watching Jeter. Balls go to his left and he gets there in time to wave as it gets through.

Who is the funniest player in baseball right now? Brett Phillips (33%) Stephen Vogt (28%) Derek Holland (27%) Brent Suter (11%) Poll complete: 9.2K votes Ty Kelly fans object.

I conflate Bob Brenly with Bruce Bochy. Like, I could spend a week camping in the mountains with one of those guys and think it was the other guy. This incident helps me distinguish.
