  1. Guillorme to the mound. He went into the dugout for another glove, but his new glove seems to have an open webbing too.
  2. Are we gonna get a position player on the mound this inning?
  3. Well, I got most of the baseball cards before Gary and Ron did. I don't think they're gonna hire me.
  4. Well, he's out of the game now.
  5. It would be cool if the Braves would at least send Sandoval out on defense tonight.
  6. Also worth noting that that game comes (a) after Michael Kay https://www.nj.com/yankees/2021/06/michael-kay-destroys-yankees-aaron-boone-for-resting-aaron-judge-vs-shohei-ohtani-its-disgraceful-its-laughable.htmlwent way off the ranch in ripping Aaron Boone to bits for sitting Aaron Judge against Ohtani, and ( buzz is erupting around the Yankees that not only is Aaron Boone on the chopping block, but ( next in line to replace him is Kay's fellow broadcaster David Cone, of all peoples. The Yanks have never let a manager go mid-season during the Cashman era.
  7. I never like bringing long men in in the middle of the inning. Throw Joe Sambito or some other traditional-but-expendable guy out there to stop the bleeding or die trying, and then let the long man start fresh the next inning. This goes double if your long man is a minor league starter not used to coming in in the middle of an inning. And triple if it's his first time out there.
  8. Man, Szapucki is pitching with stains in his shorts.
  9. Six runs home in the fourth against the Mets and they make the call for ol' 1,140, Thomas Szapucki.
  10. Old-timey baseball with the Braves dropping a ton of dinks and doinks in front of the outfielders.
  11. Brian Schneider stuffs his face with a LOT of chew.
  12. Braves are slapping their way through a two out rally here and Peterson's in a 4-2 hole.
  13. Hey, anybody see that catch by Conforto? Ya see Peterson whiff Acuña the second time around?
  14. Hey, I was eating so i couldn't post, but nobody here's has noted four first-inning runz.
  15. I'm not sure if it's just because he has a baby face, but Albies always seems to have a red ass.
  16. Yeah! Reduced price on the twofer!
  17. Benjamin Grimm wrote: It looks more like Peraza is the stead guy for McNeil. Well, the notion is that Peraza has effectively been Guillorme's platooney partner, and so should be expected to be in under any circumstances. This would suggest that Guillorme playing against the lefty is at the expense of McNeddy.
  18. You wanted a shakeup, and you got it! Smith and McNoodle ride the pine, but fellow lefties Billy McKinney and Luis Guillorme are deployed in their stead. 19. Rehabbing Mets available to play for Syracuse this evening. J.D. Davis Jeurys Familia Jonathan Villar Dellin Betances Brandon Nimmo Tomas Nido
  20. Mostly not particularly high. MLB.com had him at 21st but this year he has already passed number #20 Franklyn Kilome and #10 Thomas Szapucki. But that just feeds the deGrom comparison. Jacob got to AAA and blew past Zack Wheeler and Rafael Montero. Prospect ranking is educated guesswork. THEY CAN'T SEE A MAN'S HEART!
  21. I like him in the rotation, at least for now. I think it'll mean a lot if the team can back him and take the burden of perfection of his shoulders.
  22. I notice for this game that the PotG ballot attempts to include Jerad Eickoff's non-existent pitching line while excluding his best-on-the-team batting line.
  23. Why are news outlets obscuring the name of the accuser when HER OWN ATTORNEY is publicly using her name? More importantly, why aren't they using the word "douchebag"?
  24. Is scratching out one-run wins late after getting shut down through the first 2/3 of a game a sustainable model? The Mets aim to explore that question in depth on Wednesday as they enter game two vs. the Braves. You may feel somewhat fried under this blazing June sun, but the guy the Mets are facing is MAX Fried. Brandon Nimmo played the full game in center as Syracuse beat Rochester tonight, and I'm going to express the sentiment that he displaces Albert Almora before first pitch. Although, that might work out differently if hot-takin' Guy Boucher has his way. https://twitter.com/GuyBoucherGOAT/status/1410065651461496833 See you at The Launching Pad, Guy! http://sabr.org/sites/default/files/1969-Mets-Braves-Topps.jpg>
  25. And really ... how dead did McCann look up there? I feel like the game (and half the season) was just saved by Brian Schneider or somebody.
