  2. T-t-t-time to put the h-h-hammer down.
  3. Hoby Milner makes Castro look thick.
  4. Well, if tradition holds, his unavailability would lead to his another Met being added to the roster.
  5. Well, that's about double what the Junior we signed is hitting.
  6. I think Corbin Burnes got Stroman's spot. He pays on Wednesday.
  7. Well, that's what you get for taking Taijuan Walker's All-Star spot.
  8. Conforto say NO, YOU SIT DOWN.
  9. Wow. Smith looked like he threw a rod coming around third and made it home on momentum.
  10. Sweet hit by HotDom Smitty. I'm trying to figure out if they were traditionally aligned on defense, would that have been a 4-6-3.
  11. OK, for the second time in recent weeks, a Mets guy refuses a demotion, becomes a free agent, and immediately re-signs with the Mets and is assigned where he was going in the first place anyway. 12. It's the six innings in the bank with one hit, so the line of guys to sit is not short.
  13. I like Loup against righties. He keeps it down and uses both sides nicely. Against lefties, as tough as he is, I'm always afraid he's gonna hit the batter.
  14. So, if you sit Conforto, is that in favor of a Villar/Pillar type o' platoon in right?
  15. Hey, cats, that was Conforto's best stroke in about two weeks.
  16. Old skool run manufacturin'. It's the year of the pitcher, guyz!
  17. It seems like that one game in Washington is the only time in the last several weeks the memorial-patch-wearing Mets didn't face a team wearing a memorial patch of their own.
  18. Good God, Taylor is x-rated.
  19. Somebody didn't want to any further part of this magical season — not if it meant spending one more day as part of Syracuse's .288 season. 20. A topic that deserved investigation has been investigated: Deadlines for Topps putting players in new places under new (or old) designations in the ‘70s. https://sabrbaseballcards.blog/2021/04/14/the-deal-with-deadlines/https://sabrbaseballcards.blog/2021/04/14/the-deal-with-deadlines/ So, that Michael Wacha craziness is actually credible by 1972 standards?
  21. Sergio Romo is still pitching? How much beard is he flying?
  22. That's definitely Backman behind him. Batboy Mike is doing his best Wally impression as he runs in front. [FIMG=600]https://media.gettyimages.com/photos/members-of-the-new-york-mets-baseball-team-celebrate-their-victory-in-picture-id71583129?s=594x594[/FIMG] He and Paul sport matching Adidas.
  23. Man, that looks like Carter is about to have a bite taken out of his ass by a sick, sick man.
  24. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I would guess that he was often pleasantly surprised on Sundays. I imagine if the schedule was different, it would be remarkable enough that he'd hear about it. But maybe I should check, say, the 1968 Cardinals schedule and see how well his system would have held up that year.
  25. I remember Tim McCarver saying he never even read the schedule for weekends. On weekdays, his team might have a day game or a night game or even a day off, so he had to check, but on weekends, he just assumed there was a night game on Friday, a day game on Saturday, and a day double header on Sunday.
