  1. That's our first non-HR RBI in like the last 10-15 runs scored. It's like we've been transformed into the Yanx or something lately.
  2. Amazing how quickly he loses it. This game went from virtually nothing hard hit (including all their hits) prior to the GS and then everything hard hit right afterward. On the sour grapes side, we haven't gotten a borderline call at the plate yet.
  3. Even with all those baserunners, it was a four ground-ball inning for Niese. Has thrown about half as many pitches as compared to Scherzer thru 2 innings.
  4. There was talk of Duda back with the big club by today, but if he is he's not in the starting lineup. oe: Mets 1B Lucas Duda will rejoin the Mets on Monday, according to the (Binghamton) Press & Sun-Bulletins Lynn Worthy (Sept. 6, 2015). Duda went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a walk in his final game with Double-A Binghamton on Sunday.
  5. WERTH - LF RENDON - 2B HARPER - RF ZIMMERMAN - 1B ESCOBAR - 3B DESMON - SS RAMOS - C TAYLOR - CF SCHERZER - P
  6. GRANDERSON - RF WRIGHT - 3B MURPHY - 1B CESPEDES - CF CONFORTO - LF d'ARNAUD - C JOHNSON - 2B FLORES - SS NIESE - P
  7. The Nats are finally playing the way most thought they would as the season started. With all their players, except for Denard Span, back in the everyday lineup they've won 11 of their last 15 and only two of those wins have been by less than 3 runs. And while they have been playing mostly chumps lately, so have we and they managed to hang tough in a series with StL even while losing 2 of 3 in some gut-punch games. Bryce Harper is 9 for 15 w/3 HRs & 3 2Bs in September, and he'd probably have more but no one is pitching to him these days (9 walks in 6 games) Also Ryan Zimmerman is hitting nearly .500 for the month w/3 HRs, Yunel Escobar is at .440 lately, and even Jayson Werth is back alive and breathing.
  8. Blame Recker all you want, but this was a game where they pinch-hit a HR and we pinch-hit a GiDP We also had a HR plus three 2Bs a single and a walk in the first 4 innings and yet scored just once out of all that. And our only hit w/RiSP was the infield single that loaded the bases and it wound up neither knocking in a run nor setting up a run because it came right in front of d'Arnaud's GiDP

  10. As with all problems in life Derek Jeter comes to the rescue (well, this is from his website anyway so he gets all the credit)
  11. Well among other things they've quietly abandoned 'Chief Wahoo' in recent years, but that's something I had already noticed.
  12. 10 of the last 12 losses have been by either 1 or 2 runs and have included 4 walk-off losses and 4 times in extra-innings.
  13. And now we need at least 2 of 3 in Washington.
  14. I like that Clipart's out for a second inning. But now a K/WP puts the leadoff guy on.

  16. Stealing on a 3-0 count?!?!? Man you better make it if you try, especially with a wild pitcher. If he's going to insist on putting people on base for free don't help him out.

  18. Nice inning for Reed - even with the two rather cheesy hits.
  19. Mets have had a lot of baserunners erased in this series: Lots of GiDPs, a couple of caught stealing, Conforto trying to advance to 3rd earlier, Lagares getting thrown out at 2nd by 20 feet trying to stretch last night, etc. Also not many hits w/RiSP. If it wasn't for our new-found power we'd be in trouble here.
  20. 8-4 in DC ... but the Braves being down 4 instead of 6 in their current condition makes little difference.
  21. That was a big -- and not good -- strike 3 call on Plawecki. Sure would have liked seeing 1st & 2nd/no outs right about now.
  22. Bear Claw in for the Marlins [fimg=250:lzio9ggw]http://blackberrycreek.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8341cbb0053ef016764368121970b-400wi[/fimg:lzio9ggw]
  23. Get Harvey Up!! If he's only going to throw 14 more innings then we might as well use him 14 times for an inning each!!!
  24. And I was just about to say: 'ah 80 pitches, no big deal, we can get at least another inning out of him.'
